I called and was diplomatic. He's saying that they delivered to the wrong address. He's attempting to resolve it, so I'll hold out hope that it gets to him. We'll see...

ETA: Gonna be Monday before I get my hands on it

Eurooptics apparently sent it to his house instead of the business

Ill ask in here...between the say hunter and the lite...its just the stock that is different...everything else is the same?

Also would the butt pad from the t3x fit the t3 stock? Does Tikka sell just the recoil pad?

Well I found a left hand 223 Remington action. Couldn't pass it up so there went my tikka funds.

Going to try and build a switch barrel 223 ai and 300 blackout bolt gun.

I've got the 7mm In the stainless lite left hand with meopta meopro 6-18x50 I caught on a crazy good sale. Love the combo. Gun shoots so awesome. All the guys at the camp shoot browning or remmingtom and rave about how great my tikka shoots. They think it's a "off the wall" brand lol

Guys, if I already have a 30-06 and am looking for something a little lighter on the shoulder to shoot, is a 25-06 a good choice next?

Yes. I'd look at 25-06, .260, and 6.5x55(if you can find one).

I had a .25-06 for a while and killed a few deer with it. It was easy on the shoulder but didn't penetrate well at all with the hornady SST. I would use a premium bullet like Barnes tsx or nosler partition. I only got one exit hole from the SST. I'd prefer the .260 or 6.5x55 as they're both as easy or easier on the shoulder and shoot heavier bullets.

The main determinants of rifle recoil are: rifle weight, bullet weight and weight of powder charge. When bullet diameter and bullet weight are the same, 308 based rounds will use less powder than 30-06 based rounds. If i wanted a big game cartridge that recoiled considerably less than the 30-06, I'd look at the 260 Rem or 7-08. 7-08 ammo can be hard to find, but 260 Rem is VERY hard to find.

Nice setup, beHop.

Is that a 6.5 Swede?

Are you a reloader?

Thank you. Yessir, 6.5 Swede it is.

And no, I'm not a reloader. However, I'm planning on saving all of my brass anyway. That may be something I tinker with down the road. For the time being I'll be shooting 140 gr Hornady SSTs. We'll see how it performs and go from there. Found them for ~$30 multiple places online. Hoping it performs well and I can just order several al boxes at a time. I can't wait to get it to the range. It's one of the best feeling rifles I've held.
