Found out today why people double check other people's calculations. I've spent literally two weeks trying to find a sprocket I was told we needed for a group project. Couldn't find a single gear manufacturer or importer that had one. Would have to be custom made.
I thought about what I was told for around five seconds, and realized my group member had done his calculations using a 1:2 gear ratio instead of a 2:1 ratio. frick my life. I just wasted about 30hrs of my life chasing down the wrong part because someone did their calculations incorrectly.
Now, I will be able to get it done in about 10 minutes tonight
