It's projected to be 21° at sunrise and I don't have a deer yet. Who else is going and what's the coldest you've hunted?

I'll be out in the mess tomorrow through Sunday. Supposed to be around 20-21 sat morning and that's probably the coldest.

I remember hunting a day when it was 12 deg and ice everywhere. That was before buddy heaters. I had about 40 hand warmers in every pocket lol

A couple years ago it was about 17 and we were breaking ice in manchac to duck hunt. If I didn't have a Mr. Buddy I'm positive I would have gotten frost bite

I remember rabbit hunting once when it was around 10 degrees...hunting with dogs though, so I didn't have to sit still. damn memorable morning with fresh snow on the ground and a temp that was that cold.

January 1997. Sleet and snow about 15 deg in Cenla. Killed more ducks that day than the rest of season combined.

I hunted ducks in Northern Utah last year (-10). My son came with me.

We got a limit in 1.5 hours hunting over a hot spring.
Not a minute too soon.

But then, dry cold is not like wet, bone-biting cold.
It sure as hell isnt like -51!!! I would perish in that.

Low teens in Woodville, MS. Spent most of the day trying to fix water lines around the camp. Don't remember if I saw any deer.

I am not sure of exact temps, for ducks I hunted Canada a few years ago and it was about 2 degrees.

However my most memorable cold for ducks in the south was hunting North Mississippi the first year rob ducks were around. It was cold enough that when I would go pick up the ducks they would be frozen to my gloves. By the end of the hunt my gloves were solid red ice. Hunting was amazing NEVER killed mallards like that before or since.

About 3-4 years ago it was 8 degrees one morning. That's the coldest I remember ever hunting in. Was 3 days in a row where it got bitterly cold at night and barely above freezing that day. Never saw a deer in the morning but the afternoons where on fire and killed my best buck to date

6-8 degrees in Franklin County, MS. Mid-late 80s. I was a wee chap. Old man made me sit in the truck so I didn't get too cold. I remember trying to open the door of that 1979 Dodge pickup to get out and pee, and it was frozen shut. Only window I could get open was the cigarette flicker triangle window. Peed all on the side of the truck. He left me with a gun, on a pipeline, but I wasn't quite strong enough to get the window down to shoot out of it. Big ole doe came walking up towards the truck. Watched her walk down one big hill and up the next coming straight to me. I was about crying trying to get that Jam-Master 30-06 on her through the triangle window.
