These prices are fricking ridiculous. I've been looking for my daughter a youth model 20ga. So I post an ad on Armslist.com stating what I was looking for. Yesterday I get a text from a guy offering a youth model .410 and he wanted to know if I was interested. He said $400 so I'm thinking .410 870 or maybe even a 1100 in rough shape, but this is what I get in the next text for $400.....

Needless to say he can frick himself with his crack barrel .410 that has built in shell holders in the buttstock. That's what he used as a big selling point haha

Looks pretty tactical. You should buy it.

My first gun was an exposed hammer .410, but knowing what I do now about guns that has to be about the most unsafe gun to give a kid to learn to shoot...

It is really out of hand. I am ready for the madness to stop. I barely made it through squirrel season with the .22 bullets I had.

and the only $400 POS.

20 gauge 1100 or similar semi is the best choice IMO. Gas operation reduces the recoil to less than a crack barrel 410 and enough load and pattern to hit and kill consistently and it has a legitimate safety mechanism.

I'm really hoping to find her a Weatherby SA-08 youth 20. I've read a lot of great things on them and the one I shot was a great starter gun. You can get them new for $450 or so when you can find them. I'm just having trouble finding one for sale

That's a $170 snake charmer brand new.

Bud's has them. I would probably respond with that info.

Is this because of the hysteria that's run amok lately or that there weren't many available period? I'm the type that once I find what I want I'm not likely to compromise for less, especially on gifts for my family. Hope you find one

I think its a little of both. I mainly want one of these because just about everyone I've heard of having these says they're pretty solid guns especially for the money. I want something she can take duck hunting with me and us not have to worry so much about it getting beat up. I almost pulled the trigger on a Benelli Montefeltro 20 that came with youth and adult stocks, but i couldn't stand the thought of banging it around a duck blind. Plus she's only 8 so I want her to get old enough to take care of a gun before she gets a nice one. It seeems that lil Weatherby just fits the bill for what I'm looking for

I would've thought that also, but there is a 410 barreled AR platform carbine being made by JR (stands for "Just Right") Carbines. Saw one at the recent Bossier Gun Show for $1500!!! Talk about craziness!
