Not Toledo quality but I know it had some weight to it. Can't catch them all so figured I would share as a lot can relate to it and remember the one that got away!

ETA: Bass or Choupic? I swore I saw a lateral line.

good self control for not letting out a single curse word....I usually let loose with a string of cursing that would make a sailor blush...

I hate that, especially when you get to look at them!

I lost a no doubt double digit on Toledo 3 years ago. Had her on top and at the boat, walking her down so my buddy could net her and my spinnerbait just came loose. My buddy got a little tail in the net, but that was it. I'm surprised I didn't break my rod, cause I threw it down pretty hard I still think about that fish all the time. She was at least 10, but probably closer to 12.

That was during a tourney? I see the ribbon on the trolling motor. I would've said a few 100 cuss words

You need to take up cussing, or drinking. All that pent up frustration isn't healthy

I am surprised one didn't slip out as well.

Day after the Childrens Tourney. I forgot about the ribbon and went to try an area we decided not to fish. Wanted to see if it was the right decision.

Feel your pain, largest bass I ever landed weighed just under 4#, was flipping a craw jig on a shelf next to some cattails and stick ups, jig stops and feels like I snagged a branch, I give a pull thinking I'm hooked up as the "branch" starts angling off the shelf, that's when the "oh crap that's a fish" hit me, I reel down and set it hard, big sow bass breaks the surface still heading for deep water, too heavy to get more than her head and half of her gaping mouth out of the water, gives a few shakes, takes me on a 5 yard pull and spits the jig back at me, the deep watery sound and heavy tug each time she shook her head and the sight of her quarter sized eye staring back at me as she disappear under the surface makes me sick each time I think about it. How much she weighed will haunt me for a long time...

Belly too wide, too white and too slick looking.
Verdict = Choupic.
Where the hell was that? Didn't look familiar.
