Sounds expensive - are you about to offer me one?

Don’t have one to offer. ;)

I actually have the Tonkin bamboo to try and build some rods but never got that far unfortunately. I need a planing form. Have everything else.

Saw a new Cayo skiff in Dularge Monday. Really really nice boat but I don't like the oversized spray rails all the boat builders are building into the hulls. Guy told me he's gonna be bass fishing out of it a lot as well.

My name is Marc. I was told this was my boat, but I don't bass fish so I'm not sure who it was. Here are some pictures anyway. It's a ton of boat for the money. The base package with a Tohatsu 30hp tiller is a tousand more than an Ankona shadowcast with the same motor.

Launches and loads without dunking the hubs

Bennett Bolt tabs w/ LED controls are standard on all packages 50hp and up as is full hydro steering for console models.

Rear storage has finished inserts. Live well plubing is optional. The gas shocks are through bolted and all hardware is Gemlux

backs of the rub rail are smooth and finished, also pictured are the undersides of the ugly spray rails

15 gallon fuel cell with gauge. It's bolted in place and the hatch lid is big enough to unbolt and life the tank if it needs to be serviced. Anyone who's ever cut a tank out of a boat knows why this is a nice touch.

Hatches actually fit with even gaps. Nonskid is molded not rolled on.

Center jump seat is insulated with a stainless steel drain that drains directly into the bildge. Same for the cup holder on the top of the console, and all three hatches. The rear hatches are brass drains

Anchor light is tabbed in place

Three way toggles for everything. One is blank right now. LEft to right is Bilge on/off, nav lights, interior lights. Power pole micro controls are on the chart plotter.

Storage for four 10 foot fly rods is standard. More storage is optional.

Nav lights are LED but I don't remember which brand. Here it is all lit up.

It's not all for show.

Thanks man. It's been a really great boat so far.

One thing some of you may notice is the lack of fish storage in this skiff. The jump seat is heavily insulated but is really only big enough for beer and sandwiches. If you like to keep fish or trout fish you're going to need a cooler

Man I want a new built to spec glass skiff so bad. They’re just so frickin expensive for the size.

Nice boat, but not the one i ran into. It was a sky blue one.

I mostly fish at my family's ponds in St Francisville, but I would I like to do more trout fishing in rivers in streams in Arkansas and other places.

Recently moved to Barataria. During the summer I fish down below Chauvin. Occasionally PAC if I know big fish have moved in. I like Larose a lot but it's gotten too difficult to fish so I don't go there anymore.

In case yall haven't seen it here is a letter penned by Lefty Kreh. He is ailing and his body is in decline. Sad to see as he has done a tremendous amount for the sport of SW fly fishing. All of my heroes are now getting into their twilight years and its sad to see. Jose passed in the plane crash. Lefty is in good spirits but not able to pursue his passion. Flip seems to still be givin em hell although out of the spotlight he once drew with Walker's Cay Chronicles. Sorry for the long post but this letter struck a chord. It saddens me that I may have a son and he wont have guys like this in the sport to look up to and dream of fishing tropical flats and other far out locations.

A letter from Lefty

Ok men as most of you know, the tip snapped on my Cabelas Wind River 5wt. Since it has been a 100% bitch to get in touch with them, and it is near Christmas, I have been looking into a slight upgrade.

I have stumbled upon the "Echo Base" 9ft 5wt @ $89 and the reviews are stellar for a rod in that price range.

I am also interested in the Allen Trout II reel @ $139 IIRC.

Just looking for any reviews or suggestions on those pieces of gear in that price range.

I am hoping to get back to Broken Bow this winter for at least a day trip.

How’s the fishing up there in the winter?

I’ve wanted to make an extended weekend trip but don’t have any free time till Jan Feb.
