After searching craigslist and classifieds all over the south for over a month, I found this early 60's Super Skeeter in Texas for next to nothing. Since then, I've been working on restoring it here and there, slowly turning her into a micro skiff to pole around and fly fish from. This is my first time working with fiberglass, so you cull bucks be nice.

I'll update this thread periodically when I feel like I've made some more progress

I originally wanted an old Evinrude, but that Merc has been restored to showroom condition with all new components. I couldn't pass it up considering that I'm practically stealing it

That's awesome!

Guys on the "skeeter boat owners group" Facebook page would get a kick out of this if you have Facebook

I'm helping an old man around his fiberglass shop when I have time, he's repaying me with materials/knowledge

If I had to guess, somewhere between an NMZ and a Classic. The original owner told me it was rated for a 15 back in the day

Son that is going to be killer

Crazy how it still had good papers on it. You found the needle in the haystack.

Dang-you would not save weight with brand new. I am shocked. I guess I just assumed the new ones would weight less.

That is a good looking restoration. The skeeter owners tournament (Lake Fork) used to have an antique and classic division that you could eventually enter that beauty in.

I did a full restoration/modification on my granddaddy's 1972 skeeter K 4 metro. Still has the original 1971 Chrysler 70HP and the 1971 motorguide trolling motor.

Awesome project, that should float dam shallow!! Reminds me of my 1960's runabout restore. It's always fun riding around and getting thumbs up on your slick ride.
