Not me, but my fishing buddy (who's a great site fisherman for reds) looks down and sees about a 20 inch red swimming sideways....because he's in a 4 foot long gar's mouth.

He snags red, yanks said red out of gars mouth, and mr. redfish goes from being garfood to Toddfood.

When I was about 12-13 we were playing football in a field between 2 rows of houses. They had a squirrel go about 10 foot up an oak tree and stop. I threw the football at it from about 15 yards away and killed it.

One day in the middle of Madison Bay I was sitting down in the boat taking a break. Had a blue and chrome rattle trap dangling 3 inches in the water. A 26 7/8" redfish takes it. I weighed it for our company rodeo and won a $100 Songes gift card.

Little head now thinks we need to have a kennel of squirrel cats.

That cat sounds awesome. I hope you rewarded the behavior.

i fought a ling all the way up to the boat, and there was one following it. Bro-in-law reached over with the gaff, and gaffed he green ling and tossed it in the boat. It proceeded to go berzerk, and cut the shite out of another guy's hand who was trying to whack it. After that, he gaffed my calmer ling.

my brother caught a 1+ lb sacalait when it was dragged ashore by a snake. Killed the snake, took the fish, and mounted them both.

We were at the camp in Leeville one afternoon and my dad stepped into the boat (22' bay boat) for a cold one. He calls me over and there is about an 8 inch mangrove flopping around in the bottom of the boat. Tossed it back in and it swam away no worse for the wear. Still have no clue how it ended up in the boat.

Caught a mouse on a sticky pad and threw it outside. A bird came along for the mouse and got stuck. That got my attention cause a barn cat was putting the stalk on the bird/mouse combo. Just when cat was about to pounce a coworker ended the how

In Jr. High, someone noticed a mouse in the classroom trash can. I jumped in trying to stomp it. fricker climbed up the inside of my pants. I stopped him about 4" from my package and crushed him with my hands.

Caught an 8 foot Maco shark in the summer of 2007 off the coast of New Jersey. Had to use the boat engine to fight him and tire him out. Had to shoot him with the shotgun unfortunately and it destroyed the prize but he kept thrashing about. Made great bait tho

Told this on here probably a year ago:
Fishing for redfish with a cork and dead shrimp near Empire, La. in the marsh and a marsh hen (Gallinule, maybe?) stepped out about 20 yards behind the boat.I threw at it just for the hell of it and wrapped the line around it's legs. I put it in the box.
The REALLY weird thing about it is that about an hour later I had the cork in the water and another one flew out of the grass toward my line. I did an over hand loop in the line and caught the bird by the wing. For those that hadn't tried them they eat pretty good! This was before limits and 3 of us had a 100 qt ice chest full of reds and to hens.

I heard a story of long ago about someone I don't know and I was nowhere near him when we... I mean HE was frogging out of a pirogue one night and came up on several wood ducks. He dispatched 4-5 of them with a boat paddle. Then on the way back he got a Gros-Bec. I heard the Duck and Bec was good the following evening. That is probably an old tale that went around LSU back in about '71

I haven't been able to fish near as much as I used to lately. I need to get back down there, even if it's just me in the scanoe.
