I have issues with my regular old deke sacks. I have a hard time getting all of the texas rigged dekes into the bag. Was told to buy the stand up sacks and been eyeing them up for a little while at $50-60 ea. I probably need 2-3 of them.

Then I ran across this. Do you think its a good substitute at $15? Says it has drain holes in the bottom and fold flat. Seems like a no brainer

If they are roughly the same size I would try it

I have a drake bag like that. It is really heavy. I only used it when hunting from a boat.
My wife got some cheap bag from sportsmans guide that lasted several years and were very light. I haven't seen them in the catalog in a while though.

I would be concerned about the covering material, as one is made for light leaves and the other is made for heavy plastic pointy things. That said, the skeleton looks exactly the same.

I will say this, they sink like a rock. My cousin nearly lost his last weekend when he threw out his last decoy. He turned around and it was gone.

Luckily he felt it with his foot and got it back.

Why are you bagging TX rigged decoys? That's one reason I like that rigging system - I don't have to deal with bagging them. Clip them on a carabiner and they are good to go. If the lines are too long, just tie a loose overhand knot with all of the lines.

ETA: To answer your original question, here is a LINK to a post where someone talks about using the collapsible leaf bags (last post in the thread). Don't think the leaf bags have carry straps though.

I use collapsible leaf bags from home depot... can get about 2 dozen std decoys in each... cost is about $12 per bag

Here's how I do it with my normal deke bag:

1. Attach all decoy line loops to carabiner.
2. Hang the decoys over your shoulder (half in front and half in back. i usally do 12 per carabiner so that's 6 and 6.
3. hold bag in left hand and put 3 decoys in bag at a time.
4. After loading the 6 decoys, drop the bag to the ground and hold the carabiner with your right hand and allow the 6 decoys not in the bag to rest on the ground. now you have 6 dekes in the bag which will make it easier to keep the bag oriented upright.
5. Grab the line for 3 more and lift and drop them in then do it for the last 3.

it sounds silly to have to write this up but I struggled with figuring out the best way to do it as well...the opening of the bag would go limp and if you try to drop in all 12 at the same time, they are at the same height and clearly way too big..so some of them go in but the others just smash down the opening which is counterproductive.

If there's a hog panel on the blind, it's easiest to clip the decoy bag to that so you can use one hand to hold the bag open and the other to drop them in.

Good luck!

Not sure about the OP but sometimes I have to walk 500+ yards with 3-4 dozen decoys in two big decoy bags as well as gun and blind bag. That would be impossible without decoy bags keeping them in check. I guess you could do like those 3rd world water carrying guys and use a stick over the shoulder..LOL.

I recently started using a jet sled to help solve the transportation issue. It makes my life much easier. It's durable, and pretty stable. I've pulled it behind me over land and water without any issue.

Holds 3+ dozen decoys, gun, blind bag, etc... all pretty comfortably.

I have a nylon decoy bag with shoulder straps (cheap but works)...cut a hole in the middle of the bottom...stick the carabiner through it with the dekes hooked on and pull the bag down over the dekes...then close the bag...hook the carabiner back on the shoulder straps and ready to go...

Bought a few of the ones the OP post at Bass Pro last year. They had them on sale for about $10 at the time. Was a power buy.

I am slowly coming to the conclusion that for walk-in hunting, the traditional rigged decoys are best. You have to be able to put your dekes in a bag if you have to walk any significant distance, and getting the tx rigged dekes in a bag is more of a pain in the arse than just using the old school rigging system. Also if you have to drag a yak through any real brush you also need your dekes in a bag or they'll all start getting caught in shite and pulling off (at least for my sit on top kayak). With a pirogue or sit in it's not as necessary tho and you can go with the tx rig with no bag.

I've used something like that as a laundry hamper before. No idea where it came from. Couldn't have been expensive.

I have a ~2 mile boat ride to the blind. 16 foot boat and 2-3 people don't mix too kindly with 50 dekes on the bottom/bow of the boat

Thanks for the write up. I hadn't thought of doing it that way. I've been putting them on the ground and trying to put them in, a couple at a time. shite's for the birds

Well that's completely unhelpful.
