I second the Speedzone, and it is a 4 way herbicide. Your Trimec (WeedFree Zone) is a true three way. Either will suffice for lespedeza, just remember that 2,4-D is the main ingredient in both. St Aug is prone to 2,4-D damage so make sure you calibrate and mix correctly.
We are all talking about selective herbicides, so there is no true "ounces per gallon" mixture if you are using a pump-up type sprayer.

Paging bootlegger!
I carpet sprayed my tiffway bermuda lawn with msma Sunday mixed 2 Oz per gallon. I have a pretty bad crabgrass problem.
Temp was 89 at time of app. Now we have Temps in 50's and 60's which I know is way too low. What kind of results should I expect?

Yeah I was thinking of the Trimec which I used to use and moved to SpeedZone Southern

I would expect the same results, at a slower rate. Instead of re-applying at the recommended 10-14 days (for mature crabgrass), I'd wait 14-18 days. Just gauge your next application off of how the crabgrass responds.

Thanks that's kinda what I was expecting. This morning I checked it and crabgrass is showing a little wilt. Gonna hit it again in couple weeks to finish it off.

I have sprayed weed free zone which knocked all of the broadleaf out, but now I have Sedge (see pic on pg8) and clover starting to take over. Thoughts? Sedgehammer? When should I start hitting it with fertilizer?

WeedFree Zone should easily knock out clover. I use Certainty on sedge, and it knocks it out in one application. I believe it is restricted though, so Sedgehammer should get it.

Thanks Boot.
So weed free zone, then an application of sedge hammer. When should I start laying fertilizer down?

When you've got your weed problem on the downhill swing, and your lawn grass will be almost the sole beneficiary of the nutrients.

Help on my situation please:
St Augustine grass- Bham, Alabama
I put out Scott's Bonus S on my backyard about a month ago. Didn't get a chance to do front yard. My application in the back was light so I figured I'd probably need to do a second application later on. Is it too late to weed and feed, or should I fertilize with triple 13 with the goal of the good grass choking out the weeds? Since the front yard never got the WnF, should I hit it or go straight into fertilizer?
Is Scott bonus S the safe bet at this time? Not expecting rain anytime soon, so should I pick up something in a bottle that attaches to my hose and spray out?
Cliff notes: is it too late to weed-and-feed or should I begin fertilizing?
If still weed and feeding, what's a good product to spray since it won't be raining anytime soon?
TIA

First, tell us what weeds you have. Different chemicals for different weed types.
Posted on 4/30/15 at 12:31 pm to bootlegger
Mostly crabgrass with maybe a few others mixed in

Hate that stuff. Once it's emerged, it's a tough battle. Some people say Image, but if you read the label it is only listed to suppress it. Pull it if possible, but if you have it widespread, spot treat with glyphosate. Someone else may have had some success with another chemical....hope they chime in. I'd like to know other options as well.

Yeah crabgrass is a b****.
Update bootlegger
That msma smoked my crabgrass with only slight yellowing to tiffway. One more app in about a week and it should be completely whipped out

Ok so I hit this stuff with sledgehammer. Going to do another coat of weed free zone tonight. Thought after that? Rent an aerator and then fertilize?
Posted on 5/3/15 at 11:07 am to SATNIGHTS
Give the grass at least a week after the last pesticide application before you aerate. The lawn will be stressed from the spraying, so you don't want to shock it any further by aerating.
