Centipede is probably your best option. There's a reason it's called the lazy man's grass. Hard to give a recommendation on an herbicide without pics of said weeds.
I have centipede at home as well, but wish I got enough sunlight to switch to Bermuda.

My lawn is a mixture of Bermuda and centipede grass. Any advice on which grass I should keep and which one I should kill.

Bermuda will be harder to kill. Centipede is easier to maintain but not as nice looking when well maintained.

I say fertilize the heck out of it and let the bermuda and centipede duke it out to see who takes over
My money is on the bermuda.

What is the best way to kill either one while encouraging the other.

MSMA at a rate of 1.5-2 qts/Acre (ounces per gallon would have to be determined by calibrating your sprayer) will leave you with bermuda.
As always, I am more than happy to help anyone calibrate their equipment, either via phone or you may come to my recreation complex and learn firsthand.

Bootlegger is right. Msma at 2 Oz per gallon will take out the centipede fairly quick.
Keep in mind before you apply this that your lawn is gonna look like you covered it in gasoline for a couple of weeks until bermuda comes back.
Apply fertilizer high in nitrogen every 4-6 weeks like a 34-0-0 or something similar and that bermuda will thrive

I just laid some F-Stop down and did the Weed & Feed in the backyard and front yard after the rain.
How quickly can I reseed with more Bermuda after applying the Fungicide/Weed 'N Feed?

Depends on what herbicides are in the Weed n Feed. Should tell you somewhere on the bag how long to wait before re-seeding.
Keep an eye on that fungus...I haven't had much luck with F-stop. I switched to T-methyl.

This is what we walked in to with the house we started leasing last month. Went nuclear winter with Weed b Gone after moving in and now i'm spot treating some areas with grass seed. Whoever lived there before let their dogs run a muck and dug the shite out of the yard, notice the giant hole in front of the tree. They didn't take care of the yard at all.

Does anyone know what kind of tree this is? I tried google image search and didn't come up with much.

Guys, I didn't notice this stickied thread. Can you take a look at my thread on the 1st page and give your thoughts? Trying to identify what type of grass I have and what to do next.

is it weird that I find that pretty? Looks like moss.

You have to take a close up picture of the leaves of both the purple and the green.
Posted on 4/26/15 at 8:49 pm to nerd guy
The purple is loropetalum. From the pics the green looks like a volunteer tree.

Carpet sprayed my entire yard with msma today. Let the crabgrass killing begin!

I spread some weed and feed yesterday morning. Fertilome weed free zone plus lawn fertilizer. Directions say to apply it to wet grass, then don't water in for 24-48 hrs. A little over 24 hours passed when this morning's rain hit. I got 2", and I'm guessing most of it was in a very short time frame. Is it safe to assume that the weed and feed was washed away, and another application necessary?
I had a problem last year with lespedeza (didn't know what it was at the time), and it's starting to come up again in one part of the yard. The guide on the first page of this thread says to use MSM turf (seems like a commercial type product) and another search on the LSU ag site says to use a 3 part herbicide like weed b gone or weed free zone. Anyone have experience with this weed and what works best? I've spot treated a couple times this year already with fertilome weed out. It killed most weeds, but didn't seem to effect the lespedeza. St Augustine in south Louisiana.
