moral of the story is that wacky rig senko will catch fish, period

Truth. i drop shot senkos wacky rigged and catch some great fish. Only trick ive found is hooking the worm dead center prevents line twist when fishing a spinning reel.

Polar Pop, that fish looks atleast 5 pounds. Id say is looks like a hybrid cat. Half flat head, half channel cat. Very rare catch. That could have been a state record.

my pond

I banned senkos on my pond because too many fish hooked deep and died. But this time of year I always have one in the boat rigged and ready in case I spot a bass cruising the shallows.

You can carolina rig, drop shot, texas rig, weighted, etc.

The options are limitless with the senko. The most popular IMO is texas rigged weightless, pull up and let it flutter down.

They also make them in a "swim senko" style with a small paddle tail.

Can't imagine it mattered how it was rigged if it hit it as it landed in the water.

Correct. I just thought it was funny that I caught a catfish.

Aside from the catfish, wacky rigging works great in most scenarios.

Drop shots will catch fish that you might other wise think uncatchable.

I've been seeing these senko baits for a while now but nevertried them. Whats the difference btwn senko and traditional soft plastic?

It has salt to help cast it weightless and make it sink a little faster also has a shimmying action as it sinks. Pitch one in your pool as you'd have to see it to understand. Bass will inhale that sumbitch.
