skeet thrower

Considering adding a skeet thrower for my back pasture/shooting range. Looking at buying something more than just a spring loaded thrower. Doesn't have to throw two at a time but does anyone have a recommendation on one/been down this path? I see Cabela's has this one which looks good but without a wireless remote can't shoot towards the thrower...

I've been down the Do-All and Champion road many times.
Do-All is the cheapest. But you get what you pay for.
Champion is a little better but they still require maintenance from time to time and I've had problems with the loader breaking a high percentage of clays.
The best clay thrower, by far, in the pasture/field/backyard clay category is the Atlas Patriot: Patriot
It's also the most expensive at $599, but it is by far the best built, most reliable, most robust of the options. Also, Atlas is a very good company.

Thanks for this....I'm in the market and I shot skeet from a cheaper thrower a few weekends ago. It gets aggravating. I'll definitely have a look at the patriot.

I have a Champion with a remote and it works well for what it does but it doesn't get a lot of use.

Very soft, flimsy metal that fatigues too easily. The thower if fine; the frame sucks. I'm looking for a welder to make me a new frame for mine.

While do all frames and mounting hardware are not the best I have had good luck with them. We use them at 2 sporting clays courses and a buddy has one on his farm. The sporting clays are shot 2x weekly and most of the throwers are do all, the main problem w/ them is the cast metal breaking on the mounting hardware after that we have had minimal issues w/ the throwers or springs. They thow all sizes of targets from minis on up, rabbits as well.
A 110v trap machine that works well are promatics, they are not cheap but work very well. If you can find an old western skeet/trap machine they are great but again need 110 pwr.

My friend has a Champion skeet thrower that I've used and found it decent enough, though I need something a little cheaper.
I was looking at LINK / and liked the look of a Trius.

Pro tip, keep your head away from the throwing arm when setting the reset even when it's unplugged.

I like the hand throwers too. Never fly in the same plane twice.

if you are really gona' use it, as in more than once a week, think about looking at some of the commercial grade machines. yep, they cost a good bit more but they are really longer lasting.

Midway has the champion wheelybird 2.0 (foot pedal , wireless remote, better wheels etc) for 299 (cabelas has it for a hundred more) plus has 75 mail in rebate right now, got one a few weeks ago, shot a few hundred, no problems yet
