My 870 pump has killed more geese and ducks than I could eat in a lime time. Never understood wasting all the money on shiny wood.

I have a Benelli Montefeltro with the wood stock and I freaking love that gun. It's a pleasure to own.

I did get kinda carried away, but I recently shot a hog with 3.5" buckshot from my 12ga and saw how many of the pellets fell short and wasnt happy.

SX3, I have one and love it. Chech Winchester's website, they usuall have some kind of rebate. Last year they rebated the taxes, $70, in my case.

Franchi's are nice too. But it's hard to beat a benelli.

Franchi is actually made by Benelli.

If OP would go down to a 3" shell, that would open up so many more options.

^^This.

That american series SBE2 or the SX3 would be hard to beat for under a grand. Also, look lightly used guns. Only new shotguns I've ever had were gifts.
