I was out dove huntin this evening and after the first shot, it ejected the shell but the next shell got stuck. I took it apart and cleaned everything but it's the two shells are still sticking. Any ideas on what else I can try? It's a Winchester 1300

Stuck, like stuck in the magazine tube or stuck in the breech? I think polishing the breech helps if that's it.

Stuck in the breach. How exactly do you polish that? I hit I with some gun oil and a rag and that didnt do the trick.

Low power shells?

If it were a Browning I'd say rings but since it's a Winn, I'm not familiar with them. Do they have rings like Brownings?

I had the same problem with my 870 when using cheep low brass (not brass) when skeet shooting. I had to take the barrel off and rod it out from the muzzle.

assuming it's an auto loader (not familliar with your gun model) I would say it's low brass/low power shells not having enough recoil for the gun to cycle.

Cheap shells with aluminum bases are very bad about swelling up excessivly in the chamber and becoming stuck. I always have thamt problem at least a few times a year when I use them.

LIkely the problem. IMO, low brass should only be shot out of pumps.

If they arent low brass, its possible that its a cheap shell? I had a similiar problem before. What is size/weight of shell?

If its neither if those - you have another whole issue. Need more info: how often is it shot? What primarily do u shoot? Have u changed brands of shells? How old is the gun?

My Gold Hunter does this with cheap low power shells. Some semi-autos require more juice to cycle. Save the cheapskate shells for the pump.

Say what? If my shotgun didn't eject low brass or aluminum it would be going back the factory to get work done.

There's a reason that Benellis say they will cycle the lightest dove loads to the heaviest 3.5" magnums without any type of adjustment.

A 1300 is a pump. I have the same gun. I've shot plenty of cheapo shells with no problems

Winchester 1300 is a pump, I have one.

I haven't had one hang in the breach like that but my buddy has an old 870 that's done it with cheaper ammo. I don't think it would be the gun. I would clean and oil everything real good and try different ammo.

Yep, agreed.

Although a lot of the older SBE1's have trouble with anything less than 1oz load.

Yeah I haven't seen any of the II's jam up much. If they did it was from shitty ammo.

I skeet shoot with a guy who has a SBE1 that has been through many many duck seasons and has only had 2 cleanings in its life (once because he dropped it and plugged it full of mud). If he shoots anything less than 1 1/8oz it'll hang 5 times out of 10. Other than that the gun is pretty much indistructible.

I realized I put 1oz in the previous post...meant 1 1/8.

I was shooting 1 1/8oz yesterday, but I've shot 7/8oz through it before with no problems. The SBEII's are tough to beat

You won't see a Maxus or Xtrema cycle 1oz loads without adjustment

Rub some cotton in there and see if any of it catches. May have a tiny burr.
