Well I have decided I want to move up to an auto loader. The 2 that I am looking at are the Franchi Infinity and the Beretta outlander 300. Anyone have any recommendations on these two guns. I have been using a Mossburg 835 and that thing is heavy. Picked up a friends new A5 and that thing seemed like is was 2 pounds lighter. Don't want to break the bank on the A5 and the reviews look decent on those two.
I had a chance to go to cabbalas today and checked out the guns. The Franchi felt like it fit me better. The only thing was it had a 26" barrel. would it be better to have the 28" or does it really matter?

If you don't want to break the bank, look into the Stoeger M3000 (3 inch chamber) or M3500 (3.5 inch chamber.) M3000 costs between $499 and $549 and M3500 costs between $549 and $599 depending on finish (matte black or camo.)

I just purchased a 12 gauge franchi affinity. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet so I'm not much help . From my research you can't go wrong with ether. I am a lefty so my options were limited.
Edit: I have shot the stoeger 3500 and it is a great gun. If they sold a left handed model I would have definitely considered it.

Wow! I didn't know they made the infinity in the left hand version. I am left handed also and all my rifles are left handed. Never had a left handed shotgun. Do you mind saying what you had to pay for it and where did you buy it?

I got it from cabelas for $775 + tax. They had a deal going on for $25 off when spending more than $500 so its regularly $800. I believe they have another deal going on Dec 14 that will get you $30 of if spending more than $500.

Why?
Because its not fun having shells eject across your face and sometimes you might catch a bit of unburnt powder in the eyes. A lot of semi auto models aren't offered in left handed version.

Hunted next to a fellow poster last week with an A5, I still want one but have been very happy with my Winchester SX3 for 2/3 the cost.

That is in my budget, gonna go take a look at them this week.
was that price for the camo version?

Unfortunately the camo version isn't available in left handed model.

I did too. Man that was a fine gun but can't justify paying 1500 bucks for it. Very light weight and the recoil wasn't bad according to him.

Oh well camo won't be a deal breaker.

SX3 Shoulders the same, No reliability issues like many have said with the Browning Maxus (pretty much same gun).
I think he said mine was lighter than the A5.

No problems at all. I guess it all depends on what you are willing to spend. I bought mine as an entry level autoloader for my son. Didn't want to spend too much so this fit the bill. BTW, he is a left handed shooter and haven't had any problems. This is an inerta driven gun, not gas driven so most of the gases come out the end of the barrel not around the shooters face.

Paint it or tape it if camo means that much to you
