When I decided to get a 3.5" I went with this

Browning Silver Stalker

You can get them for mid 900's, and they are top of the line performance wise, imho.

If you're interested in a 3.5" gun, check out the new Beretta a350. From what I can tell, it's a 3.5" updated version of the a300 outlander. It retails for $999 in camo. I shouldered one last night and it was niiiiice.

I don't mind the black version.

I'm not really interested in the 3.5's. That mossburg I am shooting now is 3.5 and I have never shot a 3.5 out of it. 3" does just fine but that's a sweet looking gun.

Then get the A300 Outlander.

Shot an outlander for the past 3 duck seasons and 3 rounds of sporting clays. Have never taken it apart to clean. No issues at all.

I have a beretta a400 and love it. Shot the a5 for a year and sold it. I hated it. I would also look into a versa Max that would be my second pick over the beretta. It's a little heavier but has no kick what so ever.
