Do I think I'm doing a service by not killing snakes? It's a dumb question. By letting it live I am doing nothing by definition. By going around killing snakes because they might bite you only makes you scared of snakes and killing them makes you feel unjustifiably safe.
From the outside looking in, you would think the OB had a giant problem with snake bites.
I have never been able to wrap my head around the needless killing of animals out of fear. Which is why these threads strike me as weird because this is a seemingly knowledgeable group of folks who should know better.

I am killing snakes that can and will kill me. Rat or corn snakes get to live but cotton mouths and copperheads will be killed.

So i assume you also dont kill wasp that build nests near or on your house, right? I mean you wouldnt get stung everyday and you would only be killing them out of fear.

@barf - this is an outdoor board which would mean your either in here bc your an outdoorsman that hunts or fishes or something along those lines OR you just came in here to be a troll. @mtb made a great point; if you get into your deer stand and there's a wasp or hornet nest in there do you just ignore it? or say you get into your duck blind and a big cotton mouth is coiled up in there do you just ignore it and go about your hunt? I would bet not in either case which means your probably a hillary voting liberal troll. gtfo

Ok I changed my mind
I'll just step on one in the dark(do barf and Teague go in the woods in the dark in the fall? A question for another day) or my kid will grab one going to get a chunk of wood for the fire.
Then will let our shite swell up like a water balloon, only then will my fearless self feel good.
