Well, we're about to kick off the 22/23 big duck season here is SELA. As usual it's way to early IMO. With that said I will be out there with the usual high hopes again. I got a few decent youth reports from around but nothing outstanding. Hopefully they "show up" with the front Friday evening. What ya'll seeing?

They’re all up north where it’s not 90 degrees and 89% humidity.

According to the reports on waterfowler forum, the kids in SWLA killed a pile of grays and teal this past weekend. Hopefully a few will drift eastward.

Brushed around Delacroix/Hopedale area Thursday and saw some birds. Youth hunt report I got from interior delacroix was "lots of teal."

We spooked 6 woodies when my brother took me and my son to show us his buddy's honey hole in Mt. Hermon.

Haven't heard about the crawfish ponds near Palmetto since it warmed back up but they said a good bit hit the ponds after the first front. Owner has been pumping the ponds and the millet is thick.

Reports i got from youth weekend - seems to be a lot of teal around, in SE La. I heard a fantastic report from the Wax; where a kid killed a mix of mallards, wigeon, canvasback and teal.

They just got to northern Missouri this past weekend. October 29th opener we saw maybe 50 ducks this past Saturday was a decent push. This next cold front should really moved them in

Our big duck season opened last weekend in SETX and there were tons of grey ducks, teal and some pintails killed.

Unusual to see so many greys this early for us

report I heard of scouting run Sunday was no birds seen in Delacroix, not even summer french.
Going scouting Thursday.
Hoping for that front to move a little faster, but not optimistic, though the full moon this week could help a bit I guess.

Ran all over our lease in Hopedale yesterday. Northeast of Lake Robin. Never saw a bird. Not even a pouldou. Ponds are full of grass but nothing to eat it. Sure hope this little front Friday/Saturday pushing something.

I’m in SETX.

We opened Saturday with majority teal and rest shore divers. Redheads, scaup, and canvasback. We are in rice fields close to bay.

Pintail came around Sunday but skiddish and not eager.

I have been seeing between 5 and 10 big flocks flying southeast across the lake every day on my commute across the causeway both in the morning and afternoon. Saw several large flocks this morning. Looks like mostly dogris... I shoot dat me.
