See snakes in the woods. Take photos. Father-in-law: "You killed them, right?"

Umm, no. They're harmless water snakes.

Some bonus pics

It was a beautiful weekend. I hope everybody was able to get out and enjoy it.

Excellent photos. Good shot of the mud/musk turtle.

Looks like you use pretty nice equipment.

Nice work! It can be tough to get good photos of water snakes since they usually slip into the water as soon as you get near.

Very nice photos
What settings do you have your camera on? I just recently got a nice DSLR and I'm trying to figure it all out but it's a lot to take in.

Cool photos. As a kid I used to catch and keep/sell a LOT of snakes. Then when I got around college age I'd bring them home and think, " WTF did I bring this home for?"
Started getting into photography and just taking pics of them instead, and it's a really fun hobby.

I think I had buckshot in there, and trying to snapchat and shoot at the same time is harder than it looks

Canon T3i and Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC. I want to get the new 80D camera body and probably will by the end of the year.

Those dragonfly pics, I was really testing the autofocus with the aperture wide open. The depth of field is incredibly shallow, but it did pretty good. The 80D should have a much better autofocus too
