This would be a pretty boring place to kill time if we all had the same opinion. I was just trying to get some people some free range time who need the practice. Personally I'm very particular with who I shoot with.
I'm game for an OBGT shoot.

Yeah I do, but I spend it on my boat cause it's the time of year to be fishing, not trying to catchup to Levi Morgan on the 3D target circuit.

I dont own a boat . And I've never been to a target shoot, although Im sure it'll be fun. That's fine though, when Im in the Rockies chasing bull elk this fall you'll be working so I'd take that trade off. Enjoy your boat while you can.

Not familiar with the term "OBGT", but I'm still looking forward to your youtube video of shooting after 10 minutes of jump roping.

Enjoy your trip dude. Come back and talk to me when you have a little one running around and see if your priorities are at becoming the most proficient and physically fit shooter in the history of tigerdroppings or molding them into a respectable human being at the expense of some of your desires and hobbies
Revolvers are still better for PD are better than a Louisville slugger, and .223 is the worst possible legal round available for a whitetail.

It's not even that man, it's about not wanting to fall off the side of a cliff in Gunnison because I wasnt fit enough to haul 120+ lbs back to the truck efficiently.

Well something we finally agree on. That doesnt mean the round isnt adequate.

I'm actually mid-jump rope right now. Typing and jump roping simultaneously.

Definitely get the .44 mag
.44 special is a great self defense round and is very controllable. It's comparable to the .45 apc with a more limited ammo selection. There are good options out there though.
You can stuff magnums in it for giant kabooms and for killing stuff like deer and old buicks. Don't jack with a moon clipped .45 revolver. You're short changing yourself of a golden opportunity.

Good question. Recoil wise there's a LOT of difference between a hot/heavy loaded 357 Mag vs 44 Mag.

This is a damn genius post.
Kids trump all
When I'm dead, nobody is gonna GAS about good a shot I was or how I could nail that 13th corner at TWS, but they are gonna remember how my child went through life.

Blasting off a .44 magnum is so damn satisfying. There's so much fire and noise and horsepower.
For something to put a smile on your face a .44 is tough to beat. Shooting one indoors is a hell of an experience for the guy in the lane next to you.

Why not this one?

Absurdly expensive and out of production.
It depends what you want. Colts are not what you buy to keep on the tractor with you.

True dat!! If you want a real blast try a T/C Contender or XP-100 handcannon,e.g. my 375 JDJ shoots a 220 gr bullet at 2400 fps.

Or... the Ruger Vaquero .45 colt
One of the most fun guns I love to shoot... in the $500. neighborhood.

Nothing in particular, just want a revolver. After shooting a couple I think I will stick with a 357.
