Ruger clearance at my walmart should I get it?

Had some 93f for $99 in 22mag but sold out. They do have a river American in 243 for $199. Should I buy it? Not sure if I have a use for a 243. Have 308 for deer. Would be buying it just to buy it.

I'd buy it for my son, especially at that price. Not sure I would pull the trigger if I didn't have a use for it though. Maybe worth buying as a trade piece?

I don't have a use for it but I think in about 4-5 years my son should be able to get his first deer with it

I have a Voretex Crossfire II 4-12x44 that I picked up on clearance at Academy a while back for $107. Need some shorter rings the spare set I had laying around are too high.

One clearance sticker I didn't get a picture of was a Mossberg Plinkster bolt 22 for $99.
Would have loved to run across a good bolt action 22 for that cheap.

My mother in law swears by her 243 for hogs and does. She shoots her 270 when going for her bucks just to make sure.

Found some clearance ones in Sport earlier today. Had the 308, 30.06 and 243 Ruger American and a 17 HMR marlin which I didn't identify for $99. About to go get a Ruger just because.

I have that Marlin 17HMR. It's a fantastic rifle. It is a essentially a XT17. It has 917 VRX-17 stamped on the barrel but has the adjustable trigger and triangular hand guard of the XT17. Think it's a bastardized part number for Wal Mart but when placed side by side with an XT17 you can't see a difference except for stamping on the side of the barrel. The instruction manual for my rifle is also labled XT17.
