I might have to offer the wife some good sex so I can get that 45-70 if I find one up here. I have wanted one since my 30-30 was stolen a few years back.

Went check out the Houma Wal-Mart last night. The only Ruger they had was a 10/22- it wasn't on sale.

This was on the Westside, didn't check the one on the Eastside.

Called the walmart in galliano and they had the marlin 1895 45-70 for 299. On my way back from picking it up. It is the standard model...4 round tube...kinda would have rathered the guide gun model with 6 but I cant be picky for the price. They had 1 ruger american 30-06 for 199 left.

Yeah these did. The strange thing is that the 45-70 was 589 down to 299 but the 30-30 was only down to 385.

I just went back to the port Allen wal-mart and they scanned one of the Ruger Americans and it rang up as 378.

Talked to the manager and she say they wouldn't match the price. I guess they saved me $200.

Could you get the barrel threaded on that 308 for a supressor? I may pick one up.

With that taper and the length it might not be a heavy enough barrel for a suppressor.

In cases where the barrel is too tapered cant they add an extension with threading on it? Essentially just welding a threaded "tip" onto it? They may have to shorten the barrel just a touch though. I could have sworn i have seen this done before.

You might have to use on of these for a direct thread suppressor.

SCAR adapter

Is really for the SCAR, but can be used on anything.

I didnt look to see but I did see Savages there, they were getting ready to leave when I got there. They didnt know they were on sale so I got them to scan the gun, they were amazed how a customer knew they were on sale and they didnt so I went ahead and told them about the power of the OB.

If you didn't own any rifle yet, which caliber of the Ruger American would you prefer?
