I have a few Shimano Curado CU200's I would like to get cleaned/overhauled. What should I expect to pay for a good cleaning?

Once you start to do them yourself it can be very theraputic. Atleast for me it is.

I am open, have not made a decision. North shore or south shore in New Orleans area. Any suggestions?

I usually do do them myself. I am just not to sure about the Curado after I opened it up. I have some other baitcasters and spinning reels that I do clean myself.

I always just take out parts and lay them out in the order I remove them. Haven't had an issue with reassembly this way

You can send them back directly to Shimano for about $30.

Once a year I drop my reels off at Professional Sport Shop on Julia Street in New Orleans.

I have used this guy for the last couple of years. He is a stand up guy and does great work. He won't bill you until you recieve the reels back from him and are completeley satisfied.

you can get schematics for any reel. It helps a lot cleaning them yourself. You learn how its built and can modify it or fix it in the future if it breaks.

I'll pay....once was enough, although it ended up in sand so it was a serious pain.

Reels are in the New Orleans area. I will be in Palm Beach County off and on for a couple of more months then back permanently in Louisiana.

Bubba Ogden does a good job (been a few years since I've used him). You can drop them off at Bayou or he works/worked at the Lorant's in the Mansfield Rd. area.

Mike Cork does good too. He's in Benton, his info. is on UB. I'll probably use him out of convenience this time. I've got several that need cleaning or work done.

Professional Sport Shop, although I've never paid under 30$ a reel, they are Shimano certified for whatever that means. Good people.
