you not screwing around with that claim are you?

Nope, did it with the gun in my signature. Shooting Southwest ammo 175gr smk. First round hit and total of 2/3 hits at 1000 yards. I had never shot that far before so I didnt have good dope, just used the app.

If it makes you feel better, I shot at the K&M match in florida this past october and missed all shots at 940 yards with a much better rifle, optics, and ammo.

I wish I would have kept that 308.

Honestly, depends on how much you want to spend. I dont have a lot of money like the big dogs, so Schmidt and Bender and Hensoldt are out of my league. I use a Bushnell HDMR and its a great scope, Ive used about 7 different Bushnell scopes now. Not from their hunting or chepa lines though and theyve all been great.

For that setup, Vortex Viper PST matching reticle/turrets would be great. If you want to step up, check out the Vortex Razor or Bushnell HDMR. If you want to step up from there, check out sportoptics in hammond and talk to Jay and Chris.

congrads on the shooting. those ranges aint easy. me and buddies got into it for a while years ago but didnt stick with it. what yall are discussing in this thread takes up right where we got out and the optics werent as affordable at the time (at least to us just out of college).
best i ever did was with my M1A and a leupold i took off my .30-'06, 3/4" 3-shot group twice at 600 yds.

Hit him up, he deals with the expensive stuff now.

SWFA, they make good stuff. Im just no sold on them with all the other offerings available.

It means if the crosshairs in your scope have little hash marks they equate to so many click on the turrets(mil/mil or moa/moa). Alot of scopes have Mil reticles with MOA turrets. To be truly accurate you would need a calculator to do some math to get the right corrections.

I didnt really believe it at the time either, but it happened.

There are a crap ton of optics available now, its definitely a buyers market.

We went to Gregory, SD. I can't quite remember the outfitter's name right now. With guide fees, ammo, gas, food, beer, gentlemen's clubs, etc, I spent about $2700. I believe it was about $250 per person per day for guide, 3 meals, and lodging. Plus tip. We had a great time drinking and hanging out with the locals. The ammo was a huge expense but I bought more than I needed and still have a decent amount left. We probably shot around 250-300 rds a day if I remember correctly. Thing is, you have to use the Vmax or something similar. They won't let you use FMJ.

ETA: we went with Double K guide service Double K guide service
