I just need someone badass with a chainsaw that can cut down a huge dead pine and make it fall in a certain direction.

Pretty straight tree butleabs slightly towards my camp at the top. Don't think they'd have to climb it.

Do they have to haul it off? Or just fell it? Hauling off can be 1/2 the price or more.

Usually between $400-800 I believe though for a mature pine. I haven't priced it recently though.

You may be able to find some small time guy to do it for $200 or something, would only take him 15 minutes max to fell it for you.

I usually think of what I'd do it for, and then multiply that times 3. That'll be your cost nine times out of ten

This won't help you much but I had some redneck fella wearing a Sammy's strip club shirt walk by my house, noticed 3 dead trees. 1 large dead oak, 1 large pine, 1 small oak. All dead as hell.

All three had to fall a certain way, he cut all 3 down and hauled them off for....you guessed it, $350.

I cut that man a check, gave him and his buddy a big arse plate of brisket and potato salad and a few beers.

Ok on a more serious note, I had 2 pine trees cut down behind my house. Cut, haul off, and stumps ground down cost me $800.

It'll probably take them longer to drive there than cut it down.

Tree was struck by lightning and died. Its right next to a 100+ yr old sharecroppers cabin that my mother in law owns and we use for a hunting camp. Old cabin is gonna cost me more than its work to maintain so the tree falling on it would only do me a favor but the Wicked Witch of the North.... I mean my mother in law wants it saved

You should be able to find someone within 20 miles who cuts down trees for pretty cheap. Is it in St. Francisville? I seem to remember you hunting there. Shouldn't be hard to find someone near that paper mill.

There are a few tree guys in the area. Not exactly the types of folks I want to allow past my locked gate to see what I have back there worth taking.

Just trying to figure out if its gonna be over / under a few hundred bucks. Unfortunately I don't have time to get 2 or 3 different guys out for estimates

Mine is double the size of that one, at least. I don't even have a saw big enough to try it

Well you could pay me a 100 bucks to come out and do a really bad job of cutting tree down. Good chance I won't be able to keep it off the house. Soon as it turn the place into splinters I'll hop in my truck and hightail it out there while you faux yell at me.

win win

Heck I would do it for free. As long as someone got good video of it to share here.

Already considered this. She told me I have to get someone insured to do the job.

I would bug every buddy of mine if I was you to help cut it down.

Otherwise, you should price quote around.

Throw a rope (that won't break) or cable, in that mug, long enough the falling tree won't hit your truck, pull it away from structure and have some baw cut the tree, or visa versa. I live to far or i'd help you.

Do you have any other tree work needed? If you can pay for the crew for a day they will do a ton of work. A half day is tough, they can't really get all that shite to another job site inside a shift. I'm talking cherry picker and truck and grinder...may be worth walking around and getting rid of all of your problems.

Don't really need anything more than a guy with a saw that knows what he is doing and insured.

It's a big arse tree next to a building and on a woodline. I don't care if he drops the tree into the woods and it can rot there.
