Never been. Not familiar with a black card. Never saw a reason to use credit for toys. Would much rather use cash.

I've found some steals in their in the past. Yeah most of it is junk, but every now and then you can find a steal.

For the most part I don't notice a difference really in Cabelas vs. Bass Pro. I do like Cabelas brand items better than Bass Pro usually, but I don't buy much of that anyways.

IMO, Cabelas clothing is vastly superior to Redhead brand clothing, especially hunting clothing. I just dropped $700 at KUIU the other day so alot of my Cabelas stuff is going to be relegated to backup hunting gear now, but I have no doubt it will last years as it's really good stuff. Their "Microtex" line is the toughest hunting clothing I've ever owned.

Completely agree. This is why I give a slight edge to cabelas just based on their brand of clothing and the bargain cave. Outside of that though, to me there isn't a noticeable difference in stores when it comes to other things.

Their branded rods are fantastic. Fish Eagle II was the best series of spinning rods I've ever used.

They used to ask me every time I walked in the door -- I resisted for several years -- but I'm glad I finally let them send me a card.

I just had the girls in bookkeeping check our Cabela's "Club Points" balance -- it's slightly over 10,000.

I look at this as "found money." We use this card a lot, and pay our balance in full every month. There are probably better credit card rewards programs out there, but the Cabela's program has really worked well for me.

Cabelas Gonzales has/had a great bow tech. I forgot his name though and I'm not sure if he still works there. I took my bow there at the beginning of the season and he was really good. The guy at Bowie told me he couldn't tune my bow because of the rest I have and I needed to buy another, the guy at cabelas tuned it in about 5 minutes, made some arrow recommendations, I bought the arrows and then he worked with me on the nocks and figured out that my lighted nocks were causing problems. And on top of the work he did, didn't charge me a dime. Before next season I'm going check if he's still there to bring my bow to before going anywhere else. I prefer cabelas over bass pro on everything except duck hunting gear.

I've had my Cabela's card since '08 and only used it here and there. The past three years I've used it for everything and pay it off every month. Last year with Cabela's bucks back, mail in rebate, & matching a price to Academy, I got that $579 Savage .270 with Nikon scope for $150. Previous year, I got my Versamax Waterfowl for $820. The year before that i got my little S&W .22 pistol for free (All of which I lost in a tragic boating accident along with my 14 other guns. Damn shame I know).

I already have $150 this year and was planning on getting a Judge, but I may be upgrading the Sonar/GPS unit on one of my boats in a couple weeks instead.

More secure than a debit, and I get free or cheaper deals on things that I would normally buy anyway.

I'm pretty sure Bass Pro does the same, but I prefer Cabelas.

Cabelas customer service and return policy are awesome. I would also put the Cabelas brand gear ahead of Bass Pro.

My big problem with Cabelas is their saltwater fishing supplies and baits section sucks. I mean it is embarrassingly bad and I am a 95% saltwater angler. So as far as fishing gear, baits. and section Bass Pro blows Cabelas out of the water IMO.

I'm more fresh water and get the few saltwater baits I need from Academy. I do agree on that to though. For being in South Louisiana, they definitely need to up their saltwater game for the salt-life baws.
