I might pick one up. I have the folding kayak net from academy and i hate it. It's always collapsing and the handle is too long.

I had a collapsing net and eventually tossed it. I actually don't carry a net anymore. Saves a good amount of space. I may regret it one day, but I haven't lost a fish yet without it.

I have this trolley on mine, it's held up well to the saltwater so far. I'm about to redo it though to add some bungee on each end.

I have that orange net as well. I dont know brand but it issold at Academy. It is orange floating foam around the hoop and handle. The net itself is rubber coated. I think it is considered a wading net because the short handle has a bungee and clip inside to attach to a belt. I have heard from others that the orange foam falls apart over time but I havent noticed the slightest bit but I do take care of my equipment and the only time it sees the environment is while fishing.

I highly recommend it for yaks.

Bump. Checking to see if anyone has added styrofoam to their FS12T for more support.

Are you talking about adding foam for more rigidity or adding foam for more buoyancy? I suppose to answer is no on both accords.

Both I guess? When I first bought my yak bass pro said I could add more foam inserts for more stability?!??

They lied. Adding foam inside the hull will do nothing for stability or buoyancy.

That's not entirely true. The ascend sit on tops use structural foam. Adding more would take away some of the flex you get when standing. Not saying it's necessarily needed, but it would make it more solid.

And a lot of people fill their hulls with inflatable bladders or pool noodles to displace water should they ever take on water from waves or a hole in the hull. That's mostly offshore guys though.

Deacon, I'm probably 50% with flounder without a net. Them sob's spit bait when they hit the air. I quit trying to flip 'em and am now exclusively netting all fish.

I lost a platter size flounder Saturday trying to make it back to the yak for my net. He hit the top of the water, spit out my bait and took off.

I didn't realize that net had such a short handle. I don't know if I'll like that but for the price I may pick it up anyway and give it a try.

I saw that net the other day and thought about buying it. I have yet to actually need a net. Like deacon said, I may regret it one day, but until I've determined that one is necessary I'll do without. Less clutter in the yak.

I've got the orange floating net from academy. The folding ones seem like a pain and flimsy. Only reason I use it is because I lay my rods down in the PA and don't want to flip all the fish in and risk messing up a rod. I try to get any fish by the lip, but if it isn't working, I just grab the net.

The hell you say! Went get it last night after work.

I won't have any time to do any rigging on it but I'll get by enough for the weekend. Looks like I'll need to redo the trolly or atleast make it better. Guy used it twice and had shoulder problems. At $1050 I couldn't pass it up. It'll be mid-September before P&P has any in stock.

I don't plan on doing it.

I still can't find a seat solution. Acad has some kind of seat in the turkey section that feels awesome, but it's $80.

Yeah, I remember after I did the demo I went straight to P&P and bought it. I was like "I'm not waiting, I need it now!"

ETA: $1050 is a sweet arse deal! Looks brand new.

Yea they're out of stock for now until the '15 models show up or else I would've bought that day. They had my name down for the first Lizard Lick or Copperhead that came in but saving a shite ton of money swayed my mind on color.
