I just want to know that those funding and managing to plan are not as callous to my concerns as you seem.

I think the question is, aren't some of those guys the ones managing some of these initiatives?

He was calling me callous for whatever reason. Misguided.

Eng,
Jester jumped to ridicule me for my statement too. I was speaking to concentrations in a sample, not overall volume.
I am no geologist and don't have specifics, but my first google shot comes up with this:
A satellite image shows the concentration of suspended sediment (ssc) in 2011 floodwaters is greater at the mouth of the Atchafalaya River than at the birdsfoot delta of the Mississippi River. Circles show deposits of sediment in the Atchafalaya Delta area are greater than in the birdsfoot delta. Source: NASA MODIS Aqua satellite data, calibrated with field data. b: Sediment accumulated in greater amounts and over a wider area in the Atchafalaya Delta area. There was significant accumulation in the immediate area of the Mississippi's Southwest Pass, and little to no deposition between the two deltas.

S'plain that
Keep on pickin' them cherries bub.
From the same article, two paragraphs down from the one you quoted-
"Combined, the two studies provide clear evidence that properly designed diversions that mirror the river’s historic distribution system will create land efficiently, Jerolmack said."

Exactly the point I was trying to make.

I still think he's closer to Lane/Ricks than he's letting on.

Agreed. Most trolls don't last this long.

Ha, that's golden
Really... my wife asked me earlier when I got home "how's that Tigerdroppings thing of your's coming?" I said "It's not going so good, they've about beaten me into submission."
She laughed and I did too.
I will take this time to bow out gracefull (particularly since the 30 of the 70/30 abandoned me.
See ya around

Interesingly, Mike Lane, George Ricks, Jody Donewar, (one of which is Deege), have been completely silent on the issue over at RNR.
There's actually fishing reports being posted again...

There was a meeting set up with state coastal guys by CCA for them and they spent 2 hrs doing the same crap and refused to look at any data. Meeting ended very abruptly.

I saw that mike lane will be speaking about coastal restoration at the cca New Orleans fishing seminar in a couple of weeks.

I ended my membership with CCA several years ago. Feeling like a good move.

Highly qualified in that area..
Why do people (WWL, CCA, etc.) keep giving him airtime on this subject?

We had a half dozen haters show is last year.
You showed us buddy, enjoy that 30k redfish on the halfshell meal. Might want to remove the tag when grilling.

I'm going to go with just the fact that he's got RnR.com and for years it was a decent site. Now it's just a podium for him to scream at the top of his lungs about diversions being the devil and dredging solving all problems.

This is like implying it's a bad decision to buy a lottery ticket even though the odds are clearly weighted against you. I hardly ever fish for redfish, anyway.

But that one time you do......
People catch tagged redfish every year without CCA membership
