A neighbor's 26 yo son was bitten by a ground rattler a few yrs ago.
Went to ER at smaller Lafayette area facility.
Was given 6 doses of anti-venom, which they don't even have for ground rattlers.
Was allowed to eat half a pizza while on a morphine drip, and choked on his own vomit while sleeping.
So I guess you could say he was indirectly killed by a ground rattler. And he had killed the snake and brought it with him to the ER. I was skiing in Park City when it happened.
I feel like I would have been able to tell the attending physician there is no anti-venom necessary for a ground rattler, but no way to know if it was a reaction to that or morphine, or being allowed to eat that much.
He was playing w a remote control truck that flipped near a ditch at dusk in a light rain. Bent down to flip it over and got popped on his finger.

appreciate the compliment. I'm all the way to a 6th grade reading level. Not bad for a 44 year old. As for the acid thing, guess you missed the part where I said I didn't necessarily agree with it.
