Past tracks, etc.

If it's like any other map chip, it shouldn't erase tracks. I went ahead and ordered the chip, for $100 even if it's not that great it won't break the bank

Thanks. Once I get through tax season I'll get one of those.

Is standard satellite though? I need to see every redfish pond and slough

Navionics Platinum+ Card 651 = $200
Standad Mapping New Whole Louisiana Card = $250 (for now)
Legends Unleashed Card = $200

All of the above have sat imagery, take your pick. Disclaimer – Standard Mapping only works in Lowrance units at this time.

correct, standard also works on simrad i believe.

if i had to pick id go with legends card, althought the standard card is proven to work and look good, either way ill use the cheaper way and make my own.

That would make sense, both owned by Navico, as is Raymarine, Furuon, and a couple other I believe.

Just put a Google overlay on my Elite 5 HDI. Works great, all I had to buy was a micro SD card.

Here is a few screen shots of the maps I've made for my elite 7

that's fourchon leeville and grand isle zoomed out all the way.

that's zoomed all the way in around fourchon

that's lake decade

I made maps of dularge and dulac, all of leeville, fourchon and grand isle, montegut and PAC, and just did venice. Working my way around the coast.

FWIW these are Maps I made and just put file on sd card. Very easy but time consuming.

Once tax season is over, I'm following in your footsteps. Tired of a worthless GPS map.

I did the same. works great.

with each area map costing ~$80 a piece, this is a no brainer

Man this thread really makes me want to upgrade. I have a 2007 model Lowrance LCX-37c and i really with it had better maps. The navionics card that was given to me when i bought the boat hasn't worked in the unit and the maps that come on it standard are a joke. You run through dry land on the display most of the way out of cocodrie.

you and sea pickle convinced me to upgrade.

if you want to upgrade to this unit now is the time. they are 450$ if you can find them.

its worth the money if you fish the marsh and coastal area. i know where im at and the images are up to date. upgrade you wont regret it. go Lowrance though.

That's not bad looking, that's what my lowrance looks like for that area. They all use the same imagery more than likely.

And yes I have had two lowrance units on my boat and will always use them
