Trying to put together a bookshelf as a gift, looking for some 1x10's that are out of the ordinary. Would you have anything like that?

He's got some bad arse stuff. He is in route to Florida right now. I'm sure he'll chime in later.

Glad to hear it. Have you been to his warehouse? I think I want something pretty rare. Does he have boards cut or just logs? Whats the story?

Just looked it up. I like the grain in it. I would go for something like that.

Great, I hope to check it out. There is a place in Denham that looks like it has a good selection, but they have terrible hours. And I doubt it's as varied as the stuff SparkPlug has. He said something about 1000 year old Costa Rican wood. I don't know what that is, but it sounds interesting.

Any idea how much rare stuff runs a bf?

KR just texted me...I didn't see this thread.

I have like 32 species of hardwoods. The 1000 year old wood is in 6"x6'x12' slabs, so I wouldn't cut those, but I have many species that would fit your size requirement. If you could give me your email address, I'll send you my website address.

An example of one species- this wood is like a hologram. Its the same piece, just the pics were taken from different sides.

Purple Heart. I only use a clear finish. None of this wood has been dyed or stained.

That's some impressive stuff indeed. Looking around on the internet, I think I would like something with a tight, linear grain. Like a Zebra Wood or Tigerwood. Would you have anything like that?

I do have some that looks like zebra wood, but no pics of it right now. It's called chiraco, but I doubt you will find good examples on the net. Some chiraco looks like walnut, and some like zebra wood. I should be home by Tuesday, and I can take some pics for you.

I sent an email to you and the other poster.
