re: What do you attribute the migration change to? - PoppaTiger
We hunted Pass Manchac years ago and had a spot that was covered up in green heads. We often talked about showing up late instead of being there to watch the sun come up and see if we'd still limited out. This went on for a number of years and then the next season came around and they birds were go...

help with saving a pair of WW2 Jump Boots - PoppaTiger
I just found out a family member had my dads jump boots from WW2. He wanted me to have them after he passed being I was a 2nd generation paratrooper. The boots were in a garage at a house east of Range in Denham Springs. I know they will be in bad shape but I have to make the effort to salvage them....

Bergara Barrels - PoppaTiger
Has anyone had problems with a Bergara Barrel not kicking a fired shell out? I bought one for my TC Pro Hunter in 308 and shot it for the first time Friday. It's groups ar4e tight for a half blind old COB. I was shooting some cheap Winchester ammo and about half of the rounds wouldn't kick out. The ...

re: Metal detecting novice - PoppaTiger
I've had one for a number of years now and really enjoy getting out and swinging the coil. I have a whites XLT and a Del Soro. My best find so far was an 1827 Large Cent. The problem is finding places to go and and getting permission. We used to go to the fair grounds and see who could find the most...

re: The Army wants a harder-hitting pistol - PoppaTiger
We assisted on a ftx for two Special Forces groups a couple of summers ago. I was talking to one young stud about their side arms and he told me he used some leave time helping their armourer rebuild a 1911 for each team member. He said that when their deployment was over the teams still there were ...

re: Who here remembers Sid Crocker ? - PoppaTiger
I went to the first recruiting bash when it was held in the field house on campus. They played highlight films and things to keep you from getting bored waiting for the signed papers to come in. The best deal they did was to have Crocker, Hill and Ferguson on the stage talking about the things that ...

They all deserve repect. You have in the groups mentioned, oh yea you forgot Marine Recon don't want to piss them off, units that kick doors for a living. You have some that sneak and peek. They don't even want you to know they were there. Then you have SF who were in the begning force multipliers a...
