Hard to tell with the direct early morning sunlight (I guess it could be late in the day but it just looks like morning sunlight and the long shadows say the sun is low), but if I had to put my life on it, I would say bobcat. Really small for a cougar with those proportions. Looks about knee high.

I wish I could figure a way to put that tiger pic on a friend of mine's trail camera.

I was just disputing the house cat claim here...

tawny coloration

Mountain lion.

A lot of people think bobcats are spotted, and some are upon close inspection, but from that distance I notice a lot appear to be just a tawny light brown color.

I am not disputing the fact that there are Mountain Lions in LA. I just don't think this is one. I think it is a perfectly timed picture of a bobcat that creates discussion.

Again, who doesn't use the burst mode on their game camera? Are we to believe this is the only picture ever taken of this cat in this location? The fact that it is a daytime photo tells me the cat is very comfortable in these surroundings... Did he buy these grits from the same guy who sold Jack his magic beans???

Are you sure about that five minutes?

Are you sure about that five minutes?!

ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT FIVE MINUTES?!?!?!

Short muzzle, What looks like a tail has a green spot in the middle that tells me its the ground that just makes it look like a tail, the feeder legs are 4' so in comparison the cat is 24" tall at best

My unscientific, but well thought out analysis concludes that this is a Lynx rufus, or commonly referred to as bobcat.

Look at the pattern on the feeder. The low bright sun is washing it out on that side. I think it is washing out the pattern on the bobcat.

Fellas I don't know what it is. Like everyone else we have a lot of bobcats some big ones. I can tell you this. It's a honest photo.
Still waiting on dirty mike to confirm he'll meet me this afternoon. Anybody else??

Where is the cat's shadow? Feeder shadow goes way off to right, so the cat's shadow should be large too.
