Clogged vent in tank? Passing water in fuel? Check for a fuel water seperator that's full of water.

Boat does not have another separator, just the motor mounted one. They recommend not running 2 separators.

Maybe your key switch or kill lanyard is faulty? Try unplugging your engine harness connection under the cowling and plug it back in. I've seen this cause issues before.

Did you try spraying starter fluid in the carbs? and see if that would keep it running, if so you could verify if its a fuel or electronic issue. Or maybe you have a vacuum line clogged ( i really don't know if it has those or not) maybe stuck bowl on the carbs, when they become unstuck, it runs fine, but when the motor is shut off they are draining and re sticking. or a stuck check valve after the hp pump.(don't know if they have one of those either)

Short in the EFI system. see if injectors are spraying.
look in the cylinder if you cant get to injectors.
vapor locked? ( but i doubt it due to the pressure check.
fly wheel is loose.
maybe the motor is broken... thats all i got

BTW,you used to do a bunch of work on my friends old Pathfinder with the Verado 250. Motor was always giving him problems.
Boat stayed in Hackberry.

I've seen kill lanyards do stranger things.
I personally rigged the Verado on Lane's boat, but he only brought it back to us once after that. His fuel pumps were completely rusted, but Mercury still warrantied them for him. The fuel in his tank was maroon from all of the rust. The fuel storage tank he used was rusting internally. We checked the warranty history and he was using a dealer close to Hackberry that wasn't very experienced with Verado's, maybe not even Verado certified at that time. A lot of his problems, from our observations, seemed to be self inflicted.

i'm sorry. My post came out a different way than what i meant for it to be. I know you're not to blame,it's just those motors are notoriously difficult.
Again, my bad on the wording. BTW,This VX200 Yamaha is his bro in laws. He needs it fixed like today! lol

you rig up his 26 Pathfinder?
Posted on 9/24/15 at 10:33 am to meauxjeaux2
No problem. Verados, just like all modern outboards, are only as good as the fuel you feed them and the dealer you bring them to. Some people can't grasp that concept and tend to blame the engine. We handle them with ease while inexperienced dealers can make the whole Verado experience quite a hassel. We just had a pair of 300 Verados come in with over 3000 hours. A guy purchesd them a few years ago from the Coast Guard and needed both $20 rubber throttle body boots replaced after 8 years. Hope you get the Yamaha problem figured out.
No, we didn't do any rigging on the 26.

Unfortunately, we are booked solid for at least 2 weeks.

You'll get a thousand of these but I will throw mine into the hat. Was having much the same issues on the same motor a couple of years ago and the intermittent problem went on for years. G&F Marine finally found it. I say finally but it was their first shot at it because like you I was tired of guessing and parts changers so I took it to them. There is a well hidden relay switch that controls the power to the high pressure fuel pump. Mine had a short. Would work some times and would cut the circuit others. I know that you are asking about Baton Rouge but you cannot beat G&F in Raceland or Outcast in Des Allemands. Both had stellar mechanics and very fast turn-around times.

I'd take a motor to Cajun before I'd take one to Aqua.

Try removing the check valve. I have seen it cause this exact intermittent problem.

You try greenwell springs marine? I used them when I lived in BR. Mike the owner is a very good mechanic.
