What kind of sawmill do you have?

I've been thinking about getting a norwood mn26. It'll cut up to a 26" diameter log.

Woodland 126. I have cut up to 30" wide logs on it, BUT, that is a lot of turning the log to shave it down. Way to much work.

This is a 28" on the small end. My cut list was 2x6's and as wide as I could get slabs.

A few 2x6's.

[/img]

A few live edge slabs and a 6x6 beam.

[/img]

If I didn't own a backhoe and a tractor, I sure as hell wouldn't own a sawmill. That logs weight was around 4000Lbs.

Oh, this is the trailer I built for my mill.

And I added a drive unit to pull the sawmill head thru cuts.

I'm waiting on some sprockets and a couple more parts to motorize the lifting of the saw head. Then I will be adding power toe boards too!

Are you pleased with the performance of it? Is the 9.5hp enough. The norwood model has a 13hp on it, both mills are rated for the same size log but yet the norwood is $1800 more. Would much rather get one like you have.

I did look at the Norwoods. Best buy to me was the Woodland. They do have a new 130 mill out now and I am hearing real good things about it too. Woodland support has been great from day one. They will take your call and if that person doesn't know, they will get somebody that will.

I find that the 9.5hp motor is more then enough for what I saw. Sure, I would love more ponies, but for a base sawmill, you get more then enough what you pay for. Another thing. The good side of the Woodland mill is that any and all bearing or belts, I can buy local.

Where do you live? I'm in the New Roads area and if you would like to see my mill, I will be more then happy to show you.

As I've stated before, I find that incredible fish.

Made these for my dad for father's day. Thinking about making a few to sell on Facebook. But I need a sewing machine to make the bean bags myself. Those SOBs are $25 a set.

Eta- I had painted the lsu logo on the middle, but jacked it up so bad I painted the purple to cover it up. Didn't turn out like I wanted. But live and learn.

Yesterday morning, I got out for a few hours and started laying out the front porch on the camp. Before I put everything together, I have to treat the lumber, 6"x6" sills and 2"x6" floor joist. Roofing tar mixed with diesel. Very messes and takes about a week to dry up most of the way. Beats having to buy treated lumber. The front porch will go across the full length of the building and only 6' wide. I will get some pictures today IF I go work on it.

Got to watch the stock market today. Have a lot riding in it. Was betting a shite load that Briton was going to bail.

Recently finished a new snake cage - the one on the right...

I went with a "jungle temple ruins" theme in the top half (haven't started on the bottom yet)....

I built it with styrofoam then layered with grout before painting.

Both of y'alls projects look great.

Got the front porch sills all in place now. The heat been taking it's toll on me. So, I only been getting a hour or two each time I go to the camp.
