Was it $50 last year? I'll have to check my receipts. It's getting high.

LA increased their non resident saltwater license significantly as well.

LA also got rid of the single day license option for both fishing and hunting. Minimum 3 day and something like $90 (without looking it up).

So you're at $550 to hunt in Ms per year. We need the money. You coon asses are driving the lease prices through the roof. It's supply side economics. Meanwhile, I just got my senior exempt lifetime all game hunting and fresh water fishing license and WMA permit for $2.30.

But don’t forget non resident permit allows you to hunt buck only in velvet when it’s going to be 114 degrees, covered in ticks gnats and horse flies, and for 1 weekend.

I will be buying it all….. complaining about it the whole time but it is what it is.

Crazy thing is I bought 3 different out of state deer license last year and the 9 years before last. Born and raise in Louisiana and have never deer hunted in this state.

I think around 70% of Mississippi's license generated conservation revenue comes from out of state hunters. It hurts buying that license every year but it's cheaper than a lease

That's how I justify it in my mind. My FIL owns the land, and I don't pay to hunt it, aside from the license.

Meanwhile in Alabama us 65+ year olds just need to have a valid drivers license for hunting and salt and freshwater fishing with no Fees. Zero, nada, nuttin, zilch, null, cero, ????…… This also includes ducks, etc.

The $100 deer permit happened last year due to the velvet season. They funded state wide CWD testing by charging non-residents for the non-optional privilege of a weekend no one wanted or asked for.

If you own land and pay taxes on that land there truly should be some sort of break on the fees.

I own property and pay the taxes. I do have a MS lifetime license but my son does not. Almost $500 for him to hunt our land.

It's ridiculous...

I agree and if I were hunting on state owned land...fine, but to hunt on property that is deeded in my name, getting ridiculous

Luckily I have a non-resident MS lifetime license.

My personal belief is that there should be no income from people for anything provided by the govt other than you regular taxes.

Drivers lic., building permits, hunting and fishing licenses, inspection stickers all of that crap is something we pay taxes for already.

Anything YOU want there is a fee. All the other crap you don't want is taxes.

not hardly, Non resident hunting license in LA is 200, plus 100 for deer

in MS that would be 300, plus 75 archery / PW, plus 100 for deer stamp

so 300 vs 475
