Ok so what if you had 2 fishermen per boat, digital scale and an Ipad? Take pic of fish with partner and have some kind of app that would total the weight.

I saw one show that did that also just can't remember which one it was. Just highest 5 was all they did though.

That would definitely be fun! I usually don't have problems catching fish, it's tough to find those big ones, though

No ipad needed. Just a camera phone and pieces of paper with #s on them. Put fish on the length board and take pic with the # somewhere in it. or better yet, take pic of the fish hanging from the scale showing the weight.

We have been doing it like that. We use group messaging to stay in the loop. Take a pic of the fish, weight, and length on the ruler.

This drove me out of tournament fishing. I could never slow my desire to catch as many fish as possible. losing to a boat that got 5 bites all day to my 35 just pissed me off.

Yes. It's $5 per angler, and more than I would want to put up with. Now, if I ever got to the flyer level like Boy Scouts or Camel Riders, I'd do it. I just don't care enough to be an organizer.

Yea seems like it would be a headache. Majority of the guys I know like to fish teams. Another issue is finding marshals if you are fishing solo. Our group messaging suffices, and gives it a real feel. The last couple of hours can be painful.

Not big on tournament fishing but why would you have to have the length of the fish also? Wouldn't just a picture of the weight suffice?

Length would not really be necessary, but would remove any doubt about weight.

They had a MLF event at my home lake. KVD caught 3 bass for just about 5.5 lbs and came in last place in the finals, if I remember correctly. I saw the setup where they film all the update scenes but the pros were fishing on another lake that day.

I love watching MLF. A local TX bass fishing show that's been on the air here for years is going national on WFN if your cable package or you can go online and watch episodes at Honey Hole All Outdoors

Best part is when he shows his tracking line at the end of the show.

Super important on a slot lake. CLECO used to frustrate me.

Yea we were at Chicot Park. Never fished Cleco. I like Cotile. Won a tournament there.

I like the show, but getting penalized for the fish touching the boat carpet is stupid.

Yea it is kinda stupid. It may be enforced to slow the fisherman down a little when they are on a roll. Especially when they are on the smallies.
