No, she wasn't a bird dog, and she wasn't even mine, but I lived with her for 3 years. She was like a daughter to my brother and he brought her everywhere. She fell over and stopped breathing at the hunting camp this afternoon. I know you're all strangers, but reading posts and posting makes me feel like I know y'all and just needed to vent a little. RIP Bella girl. You will be missed.

Hate to hear that man. Dogs are family. Take solace in the fact that it was a quick and painless death. She was blessed to live a life with people who loved her.

Sorry Bro, friends don't have to hunt, fetch, behave or anything, they are just friends.
At least it was quick, for everyone.

Sorry buddy. Sometimes losing a pup is just as bad as losing a human friend. Hang in there.

I haven't lost a dog in quite a while. Seems like forever since I've felt this. She was certainly spoiled to say the least. I'm away for work and hadn't seen her in a few weeks. Going to be awful to go home without her there shaking her butt like boxers do. Thank you all for the condolences. I hate to sound like a bitch, but damn. It's heartbreaking.

Losing a pet is actually pretty awful for some. We love ours like children, and losing them for us is very difficult. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry about your loss .....I can't stand losing pets - it is rough - they become part of the family.

How old was she?

I have a 10 year old female boxer who lives with my ex and son. She is the best dog I have ever known/met. When she goes I'll be shattered.

Bella was a beautiful dog..

She was only 6. In perfect health it seemed. Figured she had another 5-10 years left. For her to just fall out so suddenly is shocking. She was a great dog.

God, that just sucks.

I had a seven year old border collie do the same thing. He was my boxer's best buddy. He had an enlarged heart and it just exploded one morning. Patty(my boxer)came running in the house barking because he had keeled over. She ran out the door as I followed her and she got to him and was licking him trying to wake him up. One of the worst days of my life.

Boxers are fantastic dogs.

Unfortunately that is not really uncommon for boxer. Seizures caused by brain tumors happen at a high rate with boxers compared to other breeds.

Still the best breed in the world for kids with families, in my opinion.

They are great with kids. If someone tried mess with my son, Patty would unleash the fury of hell upon them. She is 10, but in great shape and 90 pounds of muscle. Biggest female boxer anyone has ever heard of.

It doesn't take long for a dog to steal your heart. It takes forever to get over the loss of one. Good luck
