This is why I started the thread. Everyone that I have talked to up to this point has agreed with me.. I needed a different opinion.

Thanks

I would lean towards the one quality gun over two mediocre guns.

A) Not everyone has the ability to be brutally honest like me.

B) Sounds like you been hanging around some TC forums.

So you're saying just get the Remington.

TC is nicer than the Remington IMO.

So you in your honest opinion, would you do what I'm thinking about doing?

Chad seems to be on the fence and won't give me a straight answer

I have a T/C Encore in .308 that I love but I also have a .257 Weatherby that is badass.

Is this your "primary" deer rifle?

No I have a browning A-Bolt .270 I do bring a single shot in the woods from time to time but my go to rifle during gun season is the A-bolt. If I didn't already have that rifle I may consider going the route of the OP.

Depends one where I'm hunting.

The .257 is for more open areas and the .308 is more wooded.

HOWEVER, I'd much rather duck hunt than deer hunt.

If I needed a new rifle to replace an old worn out one it wouldn't be a bad idea. I have only gotten off two shots at a deer once in the 22 years I have been deer hunting. It feels good having four or five rounds in the gun but it isn't really necessary in most cases. Where I hunt now one shot is all you are going to get.

Why is everything about sex with you!

In a perfect world I would buy both... I just think for the money I get more getting the TC.

If you don't have many long shots (over 300 or so) get the TC with the .35 barrel. I've seen that gun in action many times and it's incredible and can be used year round. For MS, it's perfect...
