Wanting to put out Lime in my yard soon, but do not know what type to apply. Is there a best type of Lime to put down? Also, is there any negatives to putting it down this time of year? Thanks

Not exactly, just assuming. House is in a neighborhood that was built up a little. So I assumed it was just muck dirt that was used for the yards.

I'd at least buy a little pH test kit from a garden center to see where you stand. If you do need lime, use pelletized dolomitic lime.

Should I use top dirt? Or should I go down a couple inches

I pull my samples using the top 6" of dirt. And different lawn grasses like different pH levels, so keep that in mind.

Did you use distilled water for the test? If not, I think you have to account for the pH of the water used.
