Does anyone else have this dilemma ?

I shoot guns left handed and my bow right, wondering if I should switch to a left handed bow ?

You adjust for it. I'm a primarily left handed shooter with rifles and shotguns, but shoot pistols both handed equally well. Bows are right hand only.

I'm left handed but right eye dominant. Just practice with both and see if you feel comfortable with either hand. Being a lefty we have to do that in a right handed world, so ambidexterity comes a bit easier to us

Torch, my 19yr old is left handed and fires a rifle left handed, handgun left handed, but shoots his bow right handed. He throws and bats left handed but kicks right footed. These scenarios came natural to him.

I'm right handed and shoot that way, I use my left eye when shooting a rifle however.

My twin brother is. He found out the hard way: he leaned over a hammer-lock shotgun to aim with his left eye while holding it to his right shoulder. The hammer came forward and sliced his cheek open to the tune of about about 1.5" long and almost to the bone.

He now shoots left handed, but doesn't hunt that much, so shooting right handed guns is not that big of a hinderance.

My dad is. He has always just leaned his head over more when shooting shotguns or rifles

I'm left eye dominant and right-handed. I do everything right handed, including shooting with my right eye. The cross-dominance is not very strong in my case, so it is easy for me to adjust. For others, it is so strong that they have to switch hands to achieve any kind of accuracy. In my opinion, there are no hard and fast rules on what to do. You're shooting your bow right handed now. Unless you are getting terrible results, perhaps your question has already been answered.

im left eye dominate and right handed in everything else except hunting. shoot my gun and bow left handed. read several articles stating to go with eye dominance over hand dominance. try both though. it was much easier for me to site through the peep left handed. after i shot enough left handed it became much easier than my previous right handed experience.

This is my problem, especially in low light situations.
I can't see through my peep even with a light on my site.

I know I couldn't hit a barn with a gun until my gandpaw told me to switch sides and I became a crack shot. My bow skills are under par in my opinion.

Bad time of year to be switching

Either learn to shoot left handed or close your left eye when shooting.

I do.

I switched to left hand shooting for everything. Feels very natural now

I am VERY right handed, and VERY left eye dominant.
I shoot all rifles and shotguns lefty, pistols I will shoot righty, but I will move the gun over in front of my left eye.

It is much more natural to shoot the bow lefty and put the sight right on my left eye.

I'm with you. Right handed but left eye dominant. I shoot guns and my bow right handed, though. I shot for 15 yrs without realizing Im left eye dominant. I guess growing up imitating my dad, I got used to shooting with my right eye. I realized Im left eye dominant when I started doing more pistol shooting and was having trouble.

With pistols, I have seen substantial improvement just by shooting with both eyes open. It was weird starting out. I would practice often just bringing the gun up to the target with both eyes open when I wasn't at the range, which helped a lot.

With long guns, I usually use my right eye and close my left eye, especially if I'm precision shooting. With shotguns I keep both eyes open. I've started shooting my ar with both eyes open for closer range targets, which I find to be pretty damn difficult.

I have never made a serious effort to shoot lefty. Maybe I should give it a try.

Yes

Rifle - left handed
Made the switch when I was 22 or so. Much better shot left handed

Bow - right handed
Been pretty consistent

Shotgun - right handed
Shoot with both eyes open. I'm a pretty good shot. But Have days that I'm ice cold. Nothing in the middle. Rt to left shots are easy. Hard to get in front of a lft to rt bird

Very right hand dominate but left eye dominate. I shoot everything with my right and use right eye except for pistols. If you shoot pistols crossed hand you still have to use your dominate eye, dont forget that. I am a very good rifle shot and a pretty good with a shotgun but may try switching to left hand with it just to see how it feels. Have recently noticed that the vision in my right eye is starting to deteriorate slightly.

Are you shooting a recurve? If you are using a compound bow with a peep sight it should not matter.

Rub one out with left hand. Keep right eye open. Repeat over and over. Problem solved.

You should always choose your bow based on eye dominance. Obviously, you can't shoot with both eyes open if you are left eye dominant shooting a right handed bow, which limits your low light visibility.

Your best alternative for this season is to use a 1/4 inch peep

I do, its a pain in the arse sometimes shooting right handed guns.

I also shoot my bow right handed, I can shoot my sons left handed bow just as well.

I switched to a left handed bow a few years ago. First advice is to use a arm guard the first time... You may know how to shoot right handed, but those mechanics don't always carry over. Second piece of advice is to do it. I shoot way better now than I ever did before.
