Do you think the gun might be off sight since I put 8 rounds pretty close together? Also I'm left handed if that makes a difference since the charts say to reverse them for left handed shooters.

My wife embarrassed me the first time we went shooting. Both if us were noobs but she was hands down better from the start. I got some help from a few good pistol shooters I met and it made all the difference. Every one is a bit different. I prefer an isosceles stance while firing two handed. And I tried different things instead of just paper once I got decent with that.
Falling steel plates make range time even more fun. The place I go has two 6-plate stands. I'd load 12 in my XD and go until I knocked all 12 down without a reload. That took some time instead of just shooting round after round at paper targets. But it helps you acquire targets quickly and fire. Also instead of going L to R or R to L, have someone yell out numbers. I'm not just clicking along but having to think about it. I never got into IDPA or 3 gun stuff but it always looked fun.

Thanks for the advice I'll get someone to video me shooting soon to see if I can pick out mistakes I'm making. I'll also go to precision when I get time to go to Baton Rouge. I believe they have the falling plate targets. I also need a lot of practice since I don't shoot often but I like to take my pistol when I go hunting or fishing from the bank to shoot snakes. It would be nice to know I'll be able to actually hit them instead of just scare them. I don't use my pistol for home protection because I don't feel comfortable with it. My 12ga with 00 is so much more accurate.

Where are you located. I'll be glad to help you out.

I know you are looking for a simpler answer, but the target you posted confirms what I posted earlier -- you are flinching.
If you want to call me, we'll fix it. If you prefer the do-it-yourself approach, you may be able to fix it. Hopefully that'll work.
There is no shortcut. Knowing why you flinch is the key to killing a flinch.

Since you are left handed and missing right you may not have a tight enough grip.

I'll be more than happy to help out.
Just saw the picture you posted. At least you're consistent with the flinch.

I have no idea why I would be flinching. Maybe I need to slow down and focus on breathing and take more time on each shot. I'm very smooth on a rifle. Which makes me very accurate with most rifles I pick up. But I take a lot more time on each shot with a rifle than a pistol. Maybe slowing down would help with flinching.

I know exactly why you're flinching -- everybody flinches for the same reason -- and if I weren't such a slow typist I'd try to post it here.

It has nothing to do with breathing, or taking your time.
FWIW a little over half the students I've worked with have a tendency to flinch. And flinches never get better on there own -- they always get worse.
ETA: Please don't think I'm trying to convince you to take a lesson from me. Every lesson I teach takes me away from my "day job," which pays 3-4 me times what I charge for a lesson. (Hence the very limited number of lessons I schedule.)
It's pretty clear you're looking for a quicker, cheaper fix. I hope it works out for you.

Absolutely, where would you want to go?

Is that pie chart meant to be printed out and put on a target or do you just analyze your rounds afterwards?
