Braid straight to the bait. I rarely use a leader.

Thanks for all the responses. I was going to buy the 20 lb pp this weekend so its not too late to go 30. I fish in MS so it's usually fairly stained water.

I'm finding the knot sub discussion interesting. I didn't even think about the difference in how you tie it. I usually tie a jam with mono but that is looking like thats not a great option with braid.

I'm getting the aqua green power pro super slick. A lot less work tying straight to bait so I'm going to try that first. Fishing Lake P, Borgne, and Delacroix/Hopedale, water is never that clear to think I need a flouro leader

The only issue I've had with braid is if the hook has a little space on the eye it might slip out. If I'm fishing with cut bait I usually just tie on a clip.
