Great woods truck too.

One of the better woods trucks I've ever been around was the OB celebrity Stewart Smith's Tacoma of around that same year model. Single cab, 4 cylinder, Buckshot Wide mudders. Truly a shame they discontinued those tires, that little truck would walk through most anything.

They were tough though. That's for sure.

Yeah, you couldn't kill those little 'yotas. I had an 89 Tacoma with a 3" lift in high school. It had over 250K miles when I got rid of it.

Have you pulled the trigger on any tires yet?

I think I'm going to go with those Trail Grapplers. Seems to be a good mix of wear and performance at a reasonable price. The 295/60r20 sits at about 34.5" and seems like it doesn't rub by reading another thread with this truck that is pretty similar (2" level kit).

The 295/65r20 comes in at about an inch higher and I was thinking of going with the 2.5" level kit vs 3" lift anyway. This truck has the 2.5" kit and running the 295/65r20, but doesn't indicate whether it rubs or not.

ETA another pic of the 295/65r20

Have you heard any intel on this?

I least have a set of 305/55/20s on mine. I just bought a house so the lift gets moved way down the list. I will be getting either some aggressive 295/60/20s in a few months or a set of 275/65/20s. Both are 34" tall. One is 12" wide and the other is 11.xx" wide.

2" leveling kit will make you level. 2.5" will make you nose high but if you add a 3" rear you're golden. I do not recommend doing the later, it's getting close to bad angles.

The 2" and anything under 35"s will look and fit well. Including the 295/60/20s.

I have the max tow and an extra leaf in the rear. I had to go with the 2.5" but I also know my front is going to wear faster. I recommend Auto Spring leveling kits because of the cheap price, durability, and built on off set to keep your tires off the UCAs.

I'm in Disney but I'll monitor this thread the best I can. Don't over think it, just find a truck setup that you like and go with it.

Thanks dude. Mine will be the max tow package also. When I talked to the guy who'll be doing it, he said we'd wait to see what it'll take when it comes in, but may take either the 2 or 2.5" kit to level it.

On paper, 2" should have leveled mine perfectly. In reality, it wasn't even close and I had to redo it. I got talked into a subpar brand too by Light Line and they can suck it. I still recommend AS.

Eta: glad to hear that you got the tow package. The mirrors are great and compliment the truck nicely when lifted. I wish mine were motorized though.

Josey, no shite.

Assholes

They wouldn't install an AS and wouldn't order a BDS for another week. CSC did me right.

It seems like Hell Bent Steel and AS are the main 2 that guys are running. CSC told my dad they install RoughCountry, and then I called Searchers and they said they WILL NOT install the RC levels because of past problems they've had.

Ie, they are not a RC dealer. Basically they are all the same. I like AS because of the aforementioned reasons but I'll restate; solid, durable, cheap, proper offset. Csc is the only shop that I'll do business with now. If I get a jeep I'll go back to Searchers but they are far overpriced for my F150.

Yeah, they push ReadyLift which is double the price of every other kit.

I don't understand how one kit varies from another

It's just a donut spacer with holes in it

I have a daystar and I'm satisfied with it but I didn't over think it

Beardface, the guy at the tire place told me that someone just had some duratracs replaced after less than 15k. Like a dummy, I relied on that to make my decision instead of all the positive online reviews. The sidewalls on the DT look great compared to some of the other options.

I've also seen some good stuff on the toyo open country tire and they are a little cheaper, but I didn't consider them at the time of purchase.

I like the Duratracs, but they don't offer anything bigger than a 33" for a 20" rim. Also, the Toyo Open Country II is a very nice looking tire and especially the extreme which is a few select sizes.

That is not true at all. Look up the designs instead of relying on bad advice from tire guys.

Eta because I can't spell and to add a because that came across harsh.
