Juvenile snake with bright yellowish tip

Anything other than a juvenile copperhead have a yellowish tip. had one on my back porch 5' from the door.

Could be a moccasin, they can look very similar to the copperhead when small.

OK, but definitely a venomous snake? Wanted to make sure there wasn't anything nonvenomous that would have that type of tail

Cottonmouths have the yellow tail as well, it serves as a lure for prey.

Water headed copper moccasin. KIWF, run over it, then repeat until you no longer see it.

Baby Copperhead/Baby Cottonmouth

Patterns may vary. Here's a pic of a baby Cottonmouth that I took myself down in Raceland. His pattern is a bit closer to a Copperhead.



But I've never seen anything other than a Copperhead or a Cottonmouth that has a yellow tail as a juvenile.
