Hello everyone. I've never posted here before but I do read a lot of posts. Figure it's time to go ahead and post something. My name is Melissa, I work at Jim's and I can assist you. If you can call me at the store 225-293-5467 so we can address the issue. Thanks so much!
I see this now, did not see this before today. How difficult would it have been to find a shotgun dropped off on 12/17 for cycling issues (like posted on 1/24) and make sure its repaired on time? If you dont have the ability to search a log, you need a better book keeping system. If you really wanted to make sure the effin gun was ready - you would have searched the tickets - told the gunsmith to repair it or called me and discussed the situation. The gunsmith told me yesterday he looked at it tuesday (and I needed it thursday) and had to order a part so it wouldnt be ready. You dont wait until 2 days before something is due to diagnose the issue, because - what if - ya know - maybe you need to order a part? Check guns as they come in, diagnose the problem, and prioritize them by difficulty, parts available, and due dates. The process, or lack thereof, this place has is unbelievable really.
Hell Im sittin here telling someone how to improve customer service & run their business because its clear no one GAF. Ive gotten pissed off all over again. Dammit. Now I understand what I've been dealing with since 12/17/2016.

They need to compensate you in a manner that allows you inner peace and possibly bring you back to their business in the future. This thread has certainly gotten their attention.
A significant in-store credit is the only way they could make this clusterfrick up to me. I'm thinking a $1,000 gift card will go a long way to purchasing BossFlossSr a new shotgun for Father's Day.

No doubt they wrote, "Needs it done by 2/2" on the ticket when you initially brought it in. Then, it got put in the way back with stuff that doesn't need to be done

Tell him I still love my goose down Drake bibbs from five or so years ago that I purchased from you.. That may have been the best purchase I've ever made also.

Update:
I bring my gun back with the bent scope and they said they would call on Monday After that didn't happen I went into the store and they said they would make it right and send the scope back to Night Force to make sure all is well. I will update once I get the gun back.

I also forgot I brought in a 700 also to get free floated at the same time. They called and said it was ready and as they were ringing it up I pulled out a dollar bill and checked it, wasn't fricking done. She then brings the gun back to the smith and he takes the gun apart and nothing was done to it. He brings the stock out and I should have taken the thing but I told him to free float and bed it this time. They called me back a few days later and had it done and test shot for accuracy like it should have been done.
They even messed up the stock when they were Sanding it. Both sides look like that.

Why didn't you free float the rifle yourself?
You think you needed them?

Someone always asks this when someone hires out a job.
I could paint my own house or clean my own commode, but I don't want to spend my time on those tasks and would prefer to hire someone to do them for me. Some folks may feel the same for minor gunsmithing.

I brought it to them and wanted them to free float it and test fire it to see if the groups would get under an inch. If it didn't I wanted them to bed it and try test shooting again. I honestly didn't feel like doing it then driving all the way to Sherburne to hope the problem was fixed. Figured it would be easier to have them do it, test fire it and then bed it. If that didn't fix the problem then I would have looked into doing something else.

Maybe it's not worth his time?

Good thinking.
Besides, paying someone else to do the small things leaves more time for the important things, like posting on internet forums.
Right?

I don't mow my grass, clean my house, change my oil, or pretty much do anything around my house. If I need something repaired or want something done I pay someone. If I pay someone I expect it to be a quality job. About the only thing I do for myself is string my own fishing reels and I do work on my AR's with the simple stuff.

I'd watch who I talk to like that, you never know who is the type to slash a tire.

Can get a stickied thread on how much Jim's sucks?

I've never even heard of it but the two stories here make never want to go there. Their customer service and organization is obviously terrible. How long have they been in business?
