How do you like that TeraFlex rear tire carrier? Easy to install?

Easy to install. When you remove the old hinges, the metal is bare. Probably a good idea to paint the bare metal then install the new system over. Not sure if it is necessary or not, but good idea none the less. The Terraflex tire carrier is strong.

BUMP

Crawdaddy, what is the width of your Pro Comp Rims. 8" or 10"?

I'm seeing a price of $375 per tire.
And did you have to regear for those tires? That's like a 34-35" tire right? I didn't even think that would fit on a 2.5" lift.

I got a 2004 TJ and previously had a 2008 JK 4 door. That 3.8 liter didn't have enough power to pull a greasy string out of a cat's arse. I decided to sell my JK because aftermarket parts were too expensive for my college kid budget and nobody in the newer models wave.

Finally decided to chime in as a former jeep owner. Had a 94 YJ that started as a 4 banger on some tiny tires. Over the years it got a spring over axle conversion for 5.5" of lift, 1.25" shackles (to make room for the 35" BFGs, of course), a 4.0L engine mated to a NV4500, short shaft conversion on the rear driveshaft, sway bar disconnects, and some stuff I don't remember. Interior was stock except for the pioneer CD player, Boston acoustic 4x6s up front, matching 6x9s in the sound wedge speakers in rear, and (I was young, don't judge me) a Punch amp pushing two JL audio 10" subs in a custom band pass box I had built behind the back seat. Cool thing was my dad and i did all the mechanical and stereo work except the engine and transmission swap. She was our baby.

Sold her after I got a real job and my F-150 that I still drive. Girl who bought my jeep was in a wreck about a week after I sold it to her. Totaled the jeep. I cried. Hell, I'm tearing up now just thinking about it.

Next vehicle for me will be a CJ7. Wife has a Tahoe and is a stay at home mom. I'm getting a jeep. Don't care if carseats don't fit. That's why we got the Tahoe.

All righty then, my novel is complete.

PS- JK drivers: do the damned wave. It a jeep thing.

Yes 35" tire. 8" procomp 5th one installed on back with Terraflex tire carrier. I paid just over 3ea online a year ago. 2.5 Terraflex lift along with 3/4 daystar coil spacers that I added a few months back. No gear change. I have 4:10 gears along with a six speed.

CJ, YJ, TJ owners always wave back. The ones that never do are the non "Jeep people" that buy 4 door JKs. Those are the people that buy hardtops and never drive with the windows down, much less the top or doors off. In my area, 4 door JK's are becoming a more attention grabbing car for Moms to drive. I'm not saying every 4 door owner is one, but the demographics of Jeep owners is rapidly changing and I don't like it

Well we will just have to keep on waving and school the others on how it is done.

OK so be honest - how many of you guys/gals have been stuck in a downpour with top down and gotten totally soaked? I have been more than once and I always told my son and daughter if they ever found themselves in this situation at a red light, look around and smile like you meant to do it.

Happens quite a bit. I just always have a rain coat since it rains like a bitch here in Boone. I took the carpet out of my TJ and sprayed the entire bed with bedliner and took the drain plugs out. Rain doesn't bother me a bit.

Are you looking for one for everyday driving or for a weekend play toy??? I know a guy that has one if he hasn't sold it already. I'll check with him and post back with the info on it if he still has it.
