Too close together.

I have a bunch of plants going already. Last year I had a lot of luck with butternut squash which I have never planted before.

My weekend was fairly busy. Got the garden ready for planting. Still gonna be about 2 weeks before I plant, though.

Ready for planting!

I just prepped my raised garden today. It will actually be first time using it. Built it last year but finished too late.

Put in 4 early girls, 2 bush goliaths, and 2 husky bush cherries this weekend. I'll plant cherokees and creoles over the next few weeks. I don't like them to all mature/produce/peak at the same time.

I use cattle feed troughs for above ground gardens.

Also have 3 hills of cukes, and will likely do eggplant and cayenne peppers in various flower beds.

I'm going to try potatoes again, that spring rain whipped me out. Need to figure out how to keep the squirrels out the garden. Pellet gun and traps not working

Pretty much just to eat off of. I pickled a crap load of peppers last year though. I still have jalapeños and banana peppers in the fridge. And I froze a lot of bell peppers. I don't want a huge garden. I don't have time for a huge garden.

Got about 1/5 of an acre we use out at the farm that hasn't seen a garden in 5+ years. Got it prepped and and put two rows of potatoes in on Saturday, one of russets and one of reds. Located in central Texas so I'm hoping we don't get a late frost on it.

That's no joke. I'm not doing any jalapeños and bananas this year though. I'm gonna do some more bell peppers. But I'm gonna try my luck with some pepperoncini this year. I have 8 plants that have sprouted. Gonna plant the best 3. My parents and in-laws will get the others.

I can't take anymore jalapeños and bananas

Maybe it was just me, but this was the least producing variety out of 10 that I planted. No matter what I tried I didn't make a difference. Good luck!

I need to plant my tomatoes, but I actually saved 3 pepper plants over the winter. My jalapeno plant has 2 fruit on it. The poblano has 1 fruit and buds everywhere. I'm just going to see how those go.

I have 4 gallons still left from last season. What's a good use for frozen banana peppers? Can you still jar them with some marinade or are they too soggy?

I had frozen some and used them along side bell peppers to cook with. They didn't turn out soggy. They should be ok.

Any updates? All of my tomatoes are doing well. I planted 6 Celebrity's for canning, 2 Mortgage Lifters (my favorite), and 1 each of the following: Sun Sugar Cherry, Sweet 100 Cherry, Brandywine, Japanese Black Trifle, Black Krim, Big Zac, Old German, Lemon Boy, Paul Robeson, and a mystery tomato. I purchased an unlabeled heirloom last year from Rouses and saved the seeds. It looked kind of like a Cherokee Purple, but not as dark. I also planted Cucumbers and herbs. I'm holding off on the hot peppers until the summer. I find they grow better in the summer.

My garden is blowing up. These were all taken about a week ago. They've grown a little more since then. Every single tomato plant has fruit right now.

Better boys

Cherokee Purple

Roma

Cucumbers

Beans

Started my watermelon seeds. They'll be going in the ground this afternoon when I get home from work.

Did some of these a few years ago and they are fanfrickentastic. Probably the best tasting tomato I've ever eaten. I wanted to do some this year but forgot to order my seeds. Definitely gonna try to remember next year.
