re: Ducks Unlimited - Texas Gentleman
I support them. Just like the NRA, you may not agree with everything they do, but the biggest groups have the most political pull and DU can get stuff done. ...

re: Define success for Aggie football - Texas Gentleman
-We need to either be in or seriously contend being in the SEC championship at least once every 4-5 years. -Finish ranked in the top 25 at least 3 out of 5 years. -Don’t have blowout losses (59-0) or almost record setting collapses (34 point fourth quarter lead). -top 20 recruiting year in...

re: I'm curious how the Ark will react if we go 9-3 but the final loss is a blowout to LSU? - Texas Gentleman
There's no natural law that says he must regress to his previous mean
Correct. But you realize what the point of statistics is right? All we are doing is speculating on how he would perform if he stays here longer than this year. And all I’m doing is stating my opinion based on...

re: I'm curious how the Ark will react if we go 9-3 but the final loss is a blowout to LSU? - Texas Gentleman
Never said it would suck to win 9 or 10 games during a season. Just that it would suck in the overall scheme because you sunshine pumpers would use it as an excuse to keep sumlin around another 5 years while he regressed back to his mean of 8 wins a year after it....

re: Benelli Blister - Texas Gentleman
Similar to the other guys I’ve never had that problem with my SBE II. Use tape or gloves if it’s a big deal. Now getting your finger pinched while loading the shell in the magazine is still an every once in a while occurrence that sucks........
If he goes 9-3 this year & 10-2 next then he might end of with 10-3 & 11-2. Those are top 10 type teams. Why on earth would you not want to extend him at that point? Because there may be a drop-off?
Wanted to address this more specifically. That’s my point, you have to extend ...

re: I'm curious how the Ark will react if we go 9-3 but the final loss is a blowout to LSU? - Texas Gentleman
Because I know what kind of coach he is. An average (8-4) type of coach that might have an outlier good season (10+ wins) every 6 or 7 years. That’s not going to win you championships. We have enough data at this point, he’s not the guy even if he does get a second fools gold season or two because t...

re: I'm curious how the Ark will react if we go 9-3 but the final loss is a blowout to LSU? - Texas Gentleman
What scares me the most is he will go 9-3 this year, so he gets next year as he’s now “improving”. Then next year with the now older talent and still a mediocre SEC he wins 10 games, gets an extension, hype for the next season. And then falls flat on his face again and goes back to winning 8 games. ...

re: Why Sumlin Will Never Win Big in the SEC - Texas Gentleman
I don’t really follow recruiting much anymore but what little I do keep up with I have to agree with your analysis. I’ll see the headline “yessir!!! A&M lands another 4 star receiver for the ___ class!!” And think to myself, damn another one? Don’t we need some o line or cb or something else? And ye...

re: LaCamera Appreciation Thread - Texas Gentleman
and hit all of his xp's.
Yeah but in the years before he was missing several a season, it’s what got him benched except for kickoffs in favor of lambo. He was far from some of the garbage teams still trot out these days where anything past 35 yards is a gamble, but he wasn’t up...

re: 2012 and 2017 - Texas Gentleman
Isn’t beliema at Arkansas similar? I’ve seen hog posters saying he’s pretty much back next year regardless of record this year because his buyout is ridiculously high and he’s owed it pretty quick as well....

re: LaCamera Appreciation Thread - Texas Gentleman
We’ve had some pretty good kickers since 2010: Bullock, Lambo, and now LaCamera. Special teams is easy to overlook but I’m glad we’ve been solid (outside of bertolet) in that dept, makes you cringe when watching a team have to debate heavily if they’re going to kick a 40 yard field goal or go for it...

re: Sumlin Will be our Coach Next Year - Texas Gentleman
We are 5-2 and only 2 of those wins were against teams with winning records, one of which was an FCS team. Not ready to extend 3 years based on that. Jury still out
Yep, it’s weird that we are 7 games in to the schedule and I still feel like we don’t know enough about our team. We ...

re: Sumlin Will be our Coach Next Year - Texas Gentleman
Replace Mazzone (we won't), don't update buyout clause, don't change base pay, and I won't be furious
Basically my thought too. Give him “2 more years” but don’t increase the buyout so we can still fire him if we need to. Compensate that with performance bonuses (if we don’t alread...

re: Sumlin Will be our Coach Next Year - Texas Gentleman
If he can get 9 wins then he does deserve another season, but we can still lose to Miss st, auburn, and LSU so we still have a ways to go before we know if he’s coming back or not. Still need to shake the late October/November blues. Tonight was a good win though, a grind it out, gutsy win. ...

Part of the growing pains with a true fish QB. But I didn’t think we’d look this ugly on offense against a depleted Florida roster.......

re: Sumlin Will be our Coach Next Year - Texas Gentleman
Fortunately not anywhere close to 70 for a long, long time. And truthfully not all that much older than dub. Mostly just assuming on my part so I apologize for that. Met too many recent grads as of late that think A&M football only started in 2012 with Johnny Manziel (or more likely it’s when th...

re: Sumlin Will be our Coach Next Year - Texas Gentleman
I used “kid” and “son” because of his 14 in his handle, I assume he is class of 14 and therefore younger than me. And 25-26 years old is still a young gun. He also shows his Aggie football youngness by drinking the enteral kooliad and setting himself up for failure with his blind optimism. Something...

re: Sumlin Will be our Coach Next Year - Texas Gentleman
Well I don’t have time to go through 120 or however many there are FBS team rosters, but I’d imagine a lot of them. That’s what every 8-4 9-3 team says for the next year. “We bring back at least half our roster and the new guys seem to really be doing well in practices, they’ll be big contributors n...
